Wife of Man Allegedly Killed by Mexican Pirates Questioned

The wife of a man allegedly killed by pirates on a lake that straddles the U.S.-Mexico border will return to FBI offices today to resume a marathon session of questions from Mexican authorities.

Tiffany Hartley, wife of David Hartley, who is missing after the jet ski incident Sept. 30 on Falcon Lake, endured eight hours of questioning by Mexican investigators Friday. She has said she refused a request to come to Mexico for further questioning, out of fear of a possible arrest.

"I just don't think that's a wise decision," Hartley told "Good Morning America." "I think they do believe my story, but I don't know what their plan is -- why they need me to go over there when I've signed every document they told me."

When asked if she feared arrest on the Mexican side of the border, Hartley said, "Possibly."

Hartley said that she hopes that by speaking with the investigators, without an attorney, she can convince them to continue their search for her missing husband. The search was called off last week after a lead investigator for the Mexican authorities was beheaded, allegedly by members of a drug cartel.

The lead investigator in Mexico was beheaded.

Given the state of affairs down there, that could've happened from one of a multitude of reasons.

I certainly hope she has her attorney with her.

The bass fisherman & fishing guides have stopped going to Lake Facon for a long time, same with pleasure boaters.

Sounds more like a dope deal gone bad, on the water.

...but what dope-dealer bring his wife along?

Maybe mules for a competing cartel?

Whether or not the 'local gang' killed the guy, they obviously are guilty of something and don't like the Mexican government coming in to upset things and possibly fear the Mexican gov't making an arrest over trumped up charges just to ease US-Mexico relations.

So the Mexican drug cartel is the victim of an evil white American woman.

Amazing.

Time to make the lake off limit to everyone.

Install infrared guided mini guns set to auto fire on anything that floats.

Oh, no doubt! They’re obviously guilty of something... but most likely that investigator was working other cases than the Falcon Lake one.

Odd story for sure, but this is not the first time Mex pirates have shot at and chased boaters on Falcon.

The Mexican cop leading the probe was beheaded. Tends to support her narrative, does it not? I would not go to Mexico either. Not now. Not ever.

Definitely a suicide. He was having some personal problems. I think they found a torn up suicide note in one of his desk drawers.

1. The killing of the investigator may not be related.

2. If you did want to kill your husband, this would be a great way to do it.

3. A body would help.

The other day I had a few gals on here get all worked up at me for saying this story seemed “hinky”. This story just got more hinky and this woman changing her story isn’t helping.

I’m really starting to lean towards she at least knows more than what she’s telling, not sure what she would need to hide and that is for the officals to figure out but, if my wife was killed in Mexico you can be damn sure I would not hesitate to go there to make a statement and do everything I can to clear this up and find her.

“2. If you did want to kill your husband, this would be a great way to do it.”

Yeah, the old blame Mexican pirates while riding jetskis bit. Don’t forget to add the TV cameras and the appeals to the POTUS.

Much simpler than that new fangled “get the boyfriend to do it” or the relatively untested “we separated while riding and when I came back his jetski was there but he wasn’t” defense.

Let me ask you a simple question. Where is the husband’s jetski right now?

I’m sure Mexico (and their handlers, the cartels) would like nothing more than to shut this woman up. She should stay on this side of the border.
