Democrat Patty Murray said she not only read the new health care law, but actually helped write it.
Murray was debating GOP rival, Dino Rossi, in Spokane when she was asked if she had read the 2,600 page bill before voting on it. “Not only did I read it – but I helped write it,” she said, according to an article at MSNBC.
After the debate, Rossi told reporters, “Did she write the parts that are going to take Medicare Advantage away from seniors? Did she write the part with the $100 billion tax increase that's going to kill jobs in the state of Washington? Well, if she wrote the bill, then quite frankly that’s what we’re going to be talking about.”
Rossi might have asked Murray, “So, were you the one who wrote the part cutting $500 billion from Medicare spending for our seniors over the next ten years?” That response could possibly have given Rossi a significant lead in the election, but he chose not to use that strategy.
Rossi said "business owners were telling him that the new law was driving up the cost of health coverage for their workers". A majority of Americans want the health care law repealed, according to a Rasmussen poll released Monday.
This should help Rossi in his bid to take the seat from Murray. Members of Congress came under fire for not reading the bill before voting on it. Curry notes that unlike most Democrats who are running away from the law, Murray is actually embracing it. The real question is, will Rossi go after Murray for her part in crafting one of the most controversial, unpopular laws in recent times? If he wants to win, he needs to do more than talk about it - he needs to remind voters every day between now and November 2.

Did she write the part that amends the tax code by making every “business owner” file a tax form for anyone who provides him $600 or more of goods or service?
Should have made sure that old geezers would still have doctors...oh, I forgot doctors cannot be conscripted to serve in the private sector.

He got the taxes wrong it’s $569 BILLION, including a 2.9% medical device tax on tampons :) So every female regardless of her economic condition is paying MORE taxes....so much for that $200,000 or $250,000 promise.
If the imbecile, murray, is correct, she is more ignorant than I previously thought.

Someone needs to ask Murray that publicly. Ask her what criteria she wrote to determine who Big Brother will send to Hospice Centers to die.
