Cows don’t HAVE to eat corn. There is such a thing as grass.
Corn only searves to add cheap lbs. on.
“Cows dont HAVE to eat corn. There is such a thing as grass” True but,
CARS dont HAVE to eat corn or grass! They can eat hydrogen.
You are not so smart......This will also reduce the number of cows the land can support, further reduce the population and cause prices to go even higher. It takes corn and grain to support the herd because it provides concentrated energy for the cattle the range itself cannot.
Most ranchers feed their cattle to allow them to carry a larger herd. Adding pounds on only happens in the feed yard for 1 week after the rancher has sold them for market. That extra cost is added to the consumer price directly. It is not mainly related to why beef costs are going up however. The reason is, there is a shortage of corn and grain for food use and the Rancher has to pay more to sustain his herd.
You know very little about the business, but are quick to lend nonsensical fact. By the way, after you pay over 10 bucks for a burger and fries, $8 bucks for a gallon of gas, tell them how you know so much about what the real problem is. (With all due respect.)
Corn-fed tastes better!
“Corn only searves to add cheap lbs. on.”
Not so cheap, anymore.
The problem is if we stopped finishing cattle on grain tomorrow, there would never be enough grazing land to feed them all.
And as for alternatives to corn, I think other grains have probably risen proportionatly too.
The EPA corn thing is a major displacement of the whole ag business.
Steaks don't have to have any flavor either. For what beef costs, I prefer mine to have some flavor so I'll stick with the corn fed beef.
