THE PINK RIBBON CAMPAIGN
Breakpoint ^ | 10/28/10 | Chuck Colson

Posted on 10/28/2010 12:02:00 PM PDT by epow

You’ve seen them everywhere: pink ribbons and wristbands to raise awareness about breast-cancer prevention. But before you donate, find out where the money is going. Susan G. Komen for the Cure, formerly known as the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, is a big promoter of the pink ribbon campaign. It raises money for breast cancer detection and research, and it awards grants to many worthwhile programs.

But as the Life Issues Institute points out, “In a counterproductive twist, Komen is also funding a group that actually promotes a possible cause of breast cancer.”

The cause? Abortion. The group? Planned Parenthood.

According to Life Issues Institute, in at least 22 states, Komen affiliates send donated money directly to Planned Parenthood--$3 million dollars over the last five years. This money frees up Planned Parenthood’s own funds for other purposes—such as promoting the morning after pill and performing abortions.

Komen for the Cure denies the abortion-breast cancer link. But many studies seem to confirm it. For instance, Dr. Joel Brind, an endocrinologist and founder of the Breast Cancer Prevention Institute, found that “choosing to end a pregnancy through an induced abortion, especially the first pregnancy as a teenager, significantly increases breast cancer risk.”

Thanks to everyone who replied and kept the thread alive. I have been working today(for a change) and couldn’t keep the thread going myself. If Colson’s allegations are true I want to let as many people as I can know that they can support BC research by means other than unknowingly contributing to Murder Inc, AKA Planned Parenthood.

I don’t know. I think there are many other factors involved. I doubt that is a main factor, as many more abortions have been performed, that have not resulted in TNBC, than have.

Looks like contraceptives and abortions are a definite factor in TNBC.

From what I understand it was very rare before both became commonplace. There can be an inheirted gene in a small nuber of cases but basically it was a vry rare type of cancer prior to the 1970’s when oral contraceptives and abortion became easily to optain and is why I object so much to them funding PP sicne they rpovide the majority of both in this country.

I still figure they do more good than bad, and abortions nowadays are far safer than they used to be.

I really doubt that. When it was illegal, those statistics weren’t being recorded as they are now.

There have always been statics kept for the amount of Septic infections a hospital sees and they can tell when a woman has had one.I will try to find the papers that support what I’ve told you but I will warn you they tend to be medical jargon and very hard to read.Abortion faciltes do not even have to be inspected for cleanliness because the abortion lobby has had the laws made to exempt them so if the place isn’t serile doing surgical proceedues you end up with lots of infections.

Why are you on this site as a supporter of abortion?

For the same reason I’ve always been here.

I got on this thread because of my feelings about the Komen Foundation, we have gotten off the pink ribbon subject, and I have no real interest in discussing abortion. So bye for now.

Komen HQ has received 2,000 emails condemning their move to defund PP. In support, they have received only 64. PLEASE contact news@komen.org and tell them thanks for defunding Planned Parenthood. They are coming under severe attack.
