IMHO, Steele and Palin are nothing alike. As another poster said above, the RNC head saying he would be happy to support Sarah as the GOP nominee IF the primary voters voter for her, is meaningless. Sarah Palin, as a non-candidate at present, allowing for running ‘if there is nobody else to do it’, has meaning ... and a message.

I take her at her word. I don’t think she’s “going for it” right now but that she’s open to the idea.

It’s a rational way to look at it and it’s honest of her to share her rational viewpoint so openly.

It’s another reason she should be our next President.

Glad he said this.

However, I’ll bet you dollars to donuts that if they printed what he was THINKING, the line line would be “...and I’m going to do my damndest to make SURE she IN’T the 2012 nominee!”

Mr. Steele needs to shut up and go bye-bye.

He’s just trying to keep himself viable for the VP pick, no matter who gets the nomination.

Speaking of anonymous sources, Bob Knight, during a press conference when he was at Indiana, was asked the question: “Anonymous sources are saying...?”

Knight responded, “I have anonymous sources telling me that a writer in this room recently had sex with a goat.”

Greta spent a couple of minutes referencing the Politico article when interviewing Sarah last night. Greta characterized it as crap — unnamed sources, not for attribution, on background, etc. You could tell she was pissed as to what passes as “journalism.” And Sarah? She just smiled and nodded at Greta going off on Politico. A fun 11-minute interview (actually more of a give and take discussion among friends). Here is the link:

Good for Steele. He has said a thousand stupid things for this one good thing over the course of the past year. But I think he may actually be coming around.

One sign is that I haven’t heard anything stupid come out of his mouth for the past month or two. He did NOT join the chorus with Rove and the Boyz, attacking Christine O’Donnell and the conservative waves of new politicians.

That’s far from enough to be sure. But he did have a fairly conservative reputation before he was appointed to the RNC and went berserk. I suspect that was a condition of his employment, so he went along with it.

At this point, I’m willing to wait and see. If you read her book, Sarah managed to turn a few hack politicians so they became helpful. Others were hopeless and had to be dropped. But I suspect she will try to work with him, and now he’s showing signs that he has finally woken up, understands that feeding the RINO scuzz is no longer the winning policy, and may turn out to be pretty good.

I don’t much like people who put their principles aside for the sake of power, but MAYBE he deserves a second chance.

Let’s see what happens.

Sarah supported him when the trash didn’t. The trash is probably why he had trouble fund raising, they would rather give to Karl.

The tsunami has got to sweep away more than just Democrats.

Overwhelmingly, it needs to sweep out Democrats.

No, it is true. We are gonna have to push the trash out, that includes Nicole Wallace, Kevin Madden, etc as well as McConnell and Cornyn.

Sorry to be a drag, but I think Steele said the right thing, but was dishonest when he said it. I don't think he is sincere, I don't think he is principled, and I don't plan to ever say anything nice about him.

So you're an ass. Thanks for the heads-up.

If there is any justice in the world, Sarah would get Steele’s job. She’s been out doing what he should have been doing.

I don’t want her to be the nominee either but of course the RNC has no business undermining her candidacy. What the RNC should focus on is closing all the open primaries in this country.

Be fair. Steele has shown his support for Christine. He was featured in her 30 minute ad holding a rally for her.
