Former prime minister Baroness Thatcher left hospital today, almost a fortnight after being admitted with an infection following a bout of flu.
Lady Thatcher was whisked by car out of the private Cromwell Hospital in west London for the short journey back to her Belgravia home.
She was admitted on October 20 for tests after failing to shake off the illness - which had already forced her to miss her own 85th birthday party in 10 Downing Street.
A frail-looking Lady Thatcher later appeared on the steps of her home and gave a brief wave and a smile to the waiting media before returning inside. Thatcher

A True and Noble Knight
Hang in there, our original 'Iron Lady'
your wisdom will be needed for this fight.
God Bless You!
Last of the three who saved the world.
Such a great Lady.
The Iron Lady.
Some of us will never forget Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.
She was a strident friend to President Ronald Reagan and the United States. She will always have lodging in my heart.
God bless you Baroness Thatcher.
What a great Lady! If she only knew how much we still honor her for supporting the best US President since Washington, dear Ronald Reagan. I wish it were possible for FReepers to send her a thread of best wishes and thanks, so she could enjoy them.
Ah Maggie, getting old is not for the weak, and you are as magnificent today as you were years ago. I wonder if you know how much you are loved “across the pond”?
Years ago as Prime Minister, she captured my utmost respect. She remains a lady of inner strength, grace and, yes, beauty.
Baroness Thatcher gave a brilliant speech at the Kennedy Center the night after the 1994 elections. I’m pleased that this great lady will live to see tomorrow’s election as well.
AMEN, Army Teach, AMEN
"But in a certain sense, we remained an opposition, we were never the establishment. We were opposed to big government, to fashionable opinion within the belt-way, and to the endless round of so-called liberal solutions to problems the liberals themselves had created. As Ron once put it: the nine most dangerous words in the English language are Im from the government, and Im here to help. As usual, he was right. "
Thank you Lady Thatcher. We love you.
Me too. She is wonderful.

God bless Margaret Thatcher. May she be with us for many more years.
I wonder how many of our own conservative women have been inspired by her strength, courage and wisdom?
Prayers.
For what it is worth IMO you neglected Lech Walesa. For the record I am not Polish ... although the Pope was.
