FOX just showed Kelly Ayotte trailing in New Hampshire. It was 58-42.

FOX may be testing their counters, as well...polls aren't even closed in New Hampshire; so those numbers are BS.

Things looking hopeful for Beilat, looking glum for Barney Frank here in Massachusetts.

Pray.

Same here. I drove by several churches that were polling places. They were all UMC. What was the denomination of the church where you voted?

Just got back from voting here in Collin County (north of Dallas) and going to a doctor's appt afterward. My toddlers and I got to the polling place about 1 pm, took almost an hour...parking lot was full (about a block from the actual voting area) and the line went outside about 3 or 4 people deep. It was raining pretty good and I got soaked heading inside! People were all congenial in line, I asked the man taking the voting cards if it had been this busy all day, and he said YES!, asked him if there had been any problems, and he said, no, not that he knew of...LOVE IT. ;-)

Went to my appt., and stopped for some fast food for dinner at a restaurant across from polling place, and the voting line was OUT THE DOOR AND DOWN THE BLOCK CLEAR TO THE PARKING LOT! In pouring down rain no less!!! WOOOOHOOOOOOO! All those umbrellas really lifted my heart! Wish I'd had my camera with me, my cell phone doesn't take good pictures at all, unfortunately. I have a feeling those lines are being repeated across the country, though, and they're gonna get longer as people start getting out of work and show up to vote! :-)

Cwissy got one of the windows opened and jumped out shouting RAAACCCIISSSTTSS. Unfortunately it was a first floor window.

Are you sure it wasn't a "Dry Run" for later tonight when the numbers start to come in?

For the forum’s reference:

The Last Stand of the Tin Can Sailors: The Extraordinary World War II Story of the U.S. Navy’s Finest Hour
James D. Hornfischer (Author)

http://www.amazon.com/Last-Stand-Tin-Sailors-Extraordinary/dp/0553381482/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1288735987&sr=1-1

(VOA’s comment: D-mned good book. Don’t start it in the evening
if you need to be alert at work the next morning.)

WWII in HD
Gary Sinise (narrator)

http://www.amazon.com/WWII-HD-Gary-Sinise/dp/B002RUNMMO/ref=sr_1_1?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1288736279&sr=1-1

VOA’s comment: Excellent and appropriately graphic covering the
experiences of Army/Army Air Force/Navy/Marine personnel.
Aired on The History Channel, but I’d not recommend it for younger children.
One episode includes the experiences, from enlistment to battle
of one of the “tin-can” sailors that survived the pitched battle
and sinking.

IMHO, all the recollections of the military folks were compelling.
And in the ranks with any near-comprehensive WWII documentary like
“World At War”, narrated by Sir Olivier.
And Gary Sinise gives Sir Laurence Olivier a good run for his money
(as a series narrator).

“I don’t have the exits, but folks I know in the media and political worlds are getting their first glimpses.

Indicator Number One: I am told that one Democratic strategist, helping a television network with Election Night analysis, just declared that the Democrats were experiencing something on par with mass murder. The GOP counterpart looked at the same numbers and concluded the Democrats are, so far, not getting the urban turnout they need; suburban and rural areas are seeing big turnouts.

Indicator Number Two: One Republican who is seeing early indicators in Florida says, “If this holds, we win everything.”

cautiously optimistic ping!!

What the hell is FOX doing? They show Hodes leading Ayotte 58 - 42...NO VOTES have been counted in NH, as of yet. Trying to suppress votes, guys?

Wow. I voted in a heavily D area in Maryland. It was empty. Poll worker told me that turnout was slow. This was about 4pm.

Agree, and Sarah has looked much better every time she appears on TV, and I’m not just talking about her looks! Did you see that recent interview by Chris Wallace? She fricking nailed it. I’ve seen very few things like it.
