Gallup released its final polling on voter enthusiasm today, and the bottom line is that its record-breaking for midterm elections. In fact, for Democrats and their leaners, its the second-best enthusiasm level in a midterm election Gallup has seen at 44%, only topped by 2006′s 53% and their nine-point lead over the GOP in that wave election. The bad news for Democrats? Well
. Americans enthusiasm about voting exceeds the recent midterm election high set four years ago, with 50% of Americans and 53% of registered voters saying they are more enthusiastic than usual about voting in 2010.
The record level of overall enthusiasm is primarily the result of Republicans heightened excitement 63% of Republicans (including Republican-leaning independents) say they are more enthusiastic than usual about voting. That not only greatly exceeds Democrats expressed enthusiasm this year, but also is substantially higher than what Gallup has measured for either partys supporters on the eve of a midterm election. The high level of Republican enthusiasm has led to the largest gap in enthusiasm by party of any recent midterm elections, 19 percentage points. The prior highs were nine points in favor of the Democrats in 2006, and nine points in favor of the Republicans in 1994.

“Lets not go crazy with the 100+ House predictions”
It’s going to be a balance between confidence which will tend to restrain D and I (for D) votes, and overconfidence (’pride cometh before the fall.’)
I’m tending toward confidence today (+60 to 65 in the House and +8 to 10 in the Senate), with a holdout of hope for epic blowout...:)
It was very busy at the polling place this morning at 6:30. Here in the IL/IA area, it’s looking good not only for the Republicans running for Congress, but it looks like we’ll win both governorships as well.
No doubt a Republican. You should have offered her a lift home.
White liberals in Manhattan are in hiding right now. I’m not sure about turnout in the ‘Hood, though.
Oh, definitely. I think they both will. This newest Gallup really just adds 4 points to the generic Republican. Raese is closer in the polls at least.
Brices Crossroads has been following facebook Christine v Coons. I’ve been watching it overnight to now.
Christine added 195 new facebook fans in the last 13 hours.
Coons added 15. That’s 13 to 1.

I can’t for the life of me figure out why the maid issue hurt Fiorina. She did everything she was allowed and required to do.
I guess cali voters are stupider than I wanted to believe.
Ooops - stupid Kansas voter here. The maid issue was on Whitman, not Fiorina.
Any sign of Woody Allen with his daughter/wife?
Sorry, he has to check with several people before going outside ...
No sign of Woody Allen and his daughter. But I think hes in France making a movie because no one in the U.S. will finance the perverts flops any more.
He and Polanski would go well together...
Go straight to h*ll that is.
TEA TIDE STEMMED AS GOP FAILS TO GET 100 SEATS Seen As Insufficient To Block Obama AgendaLOL!
Chris is a nice guy, native NY’er, song and dance man as a child on TV and he plays really good weird characters.
That's liberl spin. When the issue was first identified by the IRS, her maid was informed to get it cleared up. In that letter, the Whitmans were warned by the IRS that firing the now-possibly-illegal maid was NOT a legal option.
When the maid revealed that she had perpetrated fraud by claiming to be legal, they discharged her immediately - just as soon as they could do so without incurring legal liability (something the wealthy have to pay attention to).
The Whitmans did NOTHING wrong here, and made every effort to do everything right.
Any perception otherwise is a liberal lie. Unfortunately - liberal lies appear to be the only thing the dems have working for them now.
Personally, I want Allred and the maid in jail. Allred can serve both sentences, after the maid is repatriated to her home country (preferably by catapult).
Then I wan the Boxer campaig find a bazillion dollars for illegal contributions-in-kind from Allred and the maid.
I've added a crucial word here. If Meg used it, then Moonbeam and his minions in the DBM have pulled their usual hatchet job. If she DIDN'T use it, she probably deserves what she gets.
LOL! Who would want to be a Facebook friend with Coons? Just establishment goons in DE or union/govt worker stooges.
I am hoping Pete DuPont’s endorsement of Christine helped. I always liked him. He is a real gentleman.
It's very possible that this spiked enthusiasm among Democrats is indicative of blue-dogs and conservative leaning Dems anxious to show their party how wrong they've been lately.
Just got back from casting my ballot. Place was packed, partly due to the consolidation of polling places here (budget cut made them cut back the number of polling places by half) My area of town is heavily GOP and the numbers of voters was huge. First time I’ve ever had to wait in line at a polling place. i’m not surprised in the very GOP central part of California, but it’s good to see. Funny was the guy in front of me dressed in Realtree camo, with his toddler kid in a stroller in matching camo. I’m thinking I can guess how he’s voting..LOL.
