While the country made a sharp turn to the right, giving the GOP the House in a landslide, CA has moved MORE to the LEFT, if thats possible. Jerry "Moonbeam" Brown as the next Gov, with a Dem Assembly, AND Prop 25 passed, which only requires a simple majority to pass a budget. CA is doomed, and will soon fall into the Pacific. I predict CA bankruptcy before 2012. Truly a land of fruits and nuts.

Maybe move to someplace where it is 52-48 one way or another? Around here, I think one state is possible to help sway (NH), but otherwise it would be places like NV or CO where the influx of kooky kaliflower people changed the local dynamcis (*not* FR Californians).
I agree moving to a safe place would be a refreshing change, but ultimately not that helpful on a national scale.
That is inspiring! Just maybe the left wing loons that won in CA will embarass themselves and turn off voters for the Dems. It seems to have awakened the masses in the rest of the country after total Dem control in DC. You and yours can be there to pick up the pieces.
Sorry to say, the CA crowd has already moved to and ruined Nevada and (my home) Colorado. Please stay in CA and live with your choices, don’t spread them elsewhere.

You are right, that’s why I said it’s a lost cause and I will be leaving this god forsaken state soon. I’ll take my money, my expertise, and my vote to a state that actually has some hope.
You know, it is the California LIBERALS who are doing that, not just the Californians. If you could specify the slander, it would be most appreciated. It is binary here, just as in Colorado and other places. Good people win sometimes, many times idiots do.
Maybe you could set up a border-check with a little test to see if movers-inners are conservative to hang with you. And Salazar. And Hickenlooper.

Yes, you in the Central Valley are our saving grace here in California. The coastal strip is really bad. We are a bit east of downtown LA — the farther east you go, the more conservative it gets. We did get a Tea Party/conservative Assemblyman in our district for Sacto.

Voted GOP, and have done son historically. That is many miles of beautuful real estate, and right thinking people.
Yeah. No Bailouts....in California terminology (or for those in Rio Frisco)....the rest of the states feel it is their moral duty to not be enablers and are therefore enacting tough love. (I think maybe they will understand psychobabble easier than the word “no”?)

There are alternatives to explore. My sole proprietorship currently travels to two other states and does business there on what basically are short road trips. Can legally do business in two other states. This year I had more sales in one state in one day as sales to California residents in the last quarter. And my business is based here in California. You may be forced to leave just due to slowing business. No way will the economy pick up in Kalifornia. Home values however are going to continue to collapse. Some are just probably walking away.
Republicans will never win those 55 electorial votes. No reason for them to drop a dime on the Corrupt Golden Bear. The entire country was anti-Obama and they still could not win with RINO's in this state. Kalifornia is dominated by the sanctuary cities of Los Angeles and San Franciso. There will be some house seats up for grabs, but nothing else here for the GOP in Mexifornia.
Remind me of a big exchange that occurred on the old Internet News groups. Back before the world wide web got graphic. A poster said he was tired of the state giving out all the freebies and he was leaving. Saw the state of California going down hill. That was back in the early 1990's. Of course the liberals posted good bye and good riddance. He then stated that his whole family was moving to Utah and taking three experienced top end programmers with them. That is basically what is happening in Kalifornia. All the talented people are leaving.
I vote in EVERY California election because it is my civic duty to do so, just as jury duty is. If you believe in rights, then you know there are no rights without responsibilities. I know I am going to lose most every vote I make in California but I vote because if I don’t, then I don’t deserve the right.
Traffic and time is a pure BS response. Ever hear of permanent absentee. I have voted from home for 12 years with my absentee ballot, doing research on the internet.

Whitman and Fiorino lost as much because “principled conservatives” voted for 3rd party candidates as any other reason.

The Gray Davis recall was a mistake. Arnold would not have make it through a primary election.
