Kalifornia lost cause
None | None

Posted on 11/03/2010 6:13:01 AM PDT by kgrif_Salinas

While the country made a sharp turn to the right, giving the GOP the House in a landslide, CA has moved MORE to the LEFT, if thats possible. Jerry "Moonbeam" Brown as the next Gov, with a Dem Assembly, AND Prop 25 passed, which only requires a simple majority to pass a budget. CA is doomed, and will soon fall into the Pacific. I predict CA bankruptcy before 2012. Truly a land of fruits and nuts.

Oh, and did I forget to mention our current Governor is a Republican? Look where that got us here. It’s pointless.

I grew up in San Jose, but left 35 years ago when I enlisted in the Air Force, and I’d never go back except to visit relatives.

I moved from CA when I joined the AF in ‘76 and I only visit family members there, too. CA was once a truly great state, but is now only a deteriorating shell of its former self.

I’m another ex-AF guy who left California—in my case, in 1994. Only mine and the wife’s relatives give us cause to occasionally go back for a visit (heaven forbid they’d stoop to visiting Arizona!). I have deep roots in California too, about 200 years worth (longer that that if you count my Native American roots there). It pains me that the beautiful land of my fathers has become such a cesspool full of ignoramuses.

Unbelievable statement!!!! You don’t like what is happening in your state but you don’t even bother to vote!

Are you waiting for a lifeboat to come and rescue you?

We had all the unions, Mexicans and morons voting for moonbeam. We had old ladies that thought Meg Wittman was mean but were too stupid or uninformed to realize Moonbeam will can proposition 13 ( that helps the elderly). Plus the biggest problem was how the propositions were written. You almost had to be a lawyer to understand them. Key buzz words were added so yes meant no and no meant yes. The stoners and elderly didn't have a clue to what they were voting for let alone the Mexicans.

Your current governor is a RINO. My point still stands. Yeah, let traffic and crowds be your reason for not fighting the downhill slide of California.

If Palin wants to run an out of the box campaign, these are some ideas. She could even get democrat votes knowing the Fed govt under her leadership and belief in genuine federalism would leave them alone in Kalifornia etc.

A divorce for the USA is not a bad idea in theory but the devil would be in the details and what happens with serious disagreement on who gets what.

Put it this way: Meg was not nearly conservative enough to make a difference in the state’s financial condition. Neither is the California legislature. The coming disasters will be on Jerry Brown’s watch, and it will take such disasters to turn liberals into conservatives.

I never used to believe too much in the belief that you should seek to advance by allowing the other side to fail, but in the case of California, I think that's probably the only way anything positive is going to get done. It's a philosophy that should be applied judiciously, but sometimes, when needs must ....

Let Cali be the shining example for all things left and liberal and see what develops. BUT they must face the outcome alone without bailing out from the hard working level headed Americans in the rest of the country.

We also have the environmental nazis in charge too! Gavin Newsome, Kamala Harris and the prop against oil were all winners too!

You think for a second that these progressives aren’t going to attack every single business in this state and attempt to destroy them?

This state is in shambles and they are going to make it worse.

So, what was the choice here? Someone who spent a lot of money, has only talk to go by, and no voting record. Or Brown, which i sure as hell wasn’t going to vote for because of his record. I don’t vote for people who talk, I vote for people who do, I have to see it before I’ll vote for them. And unfortunately, Meg Whitman was only talk, nothing to back it up.

I would just add to your little rant that CA voters aren’t just stupid, they’re cosmically so. For all you CAians thinking about escaping pls don’t. Pls just stay there. We don’t want you, you’re culture or politics. Stay home! You’ve screwed one place into the dirt don’t do it to ours too. Anyway, the weather here is terrible and we all know how you like your CA weather.

You are correct. Sorry to rub it in because I can imagine how depressed I would be had White won yesterday. What is the future of Cali as you see it? Is this rock bottom and the beginning of a future conservative rescue? Or are you going to move?

This morning in about two more hours, executives will begin planning to move or perhaps to take the plans to move from the drawer and implement them.

I hope the company I work for moves out of there.

"You know — those of us who live in California and who fought tooth and nail for conservatives here and across the country would appreciate not being slandered. It’s a sad day here in Mudville. We celebrate the House tsunami, however."

Sad, but it is probably time to consider moving out of state. It is going to get worse. Taxes will get higher, fees will go up and conservatives will not have a voice in government. I was once a Californian, but now live in Virginia - a much better home.

The thing is, how will the property owners leave California if they can’t sell their properties?

Why did the republican party endorse such globalist hogwash candidates as Whitman and Fiorina? We could have had a contender if the republican party of Schwarzenegger had denounced the globalist agenda instead of running candidates for it.
