Liberal Sore Losers
Israpundent ^ | November 4, 2010 | Daniel Greenfield

In January of 2009, huge numbers of eager liberals made the trip down to Washington D.C. to celebrate the inauguration of Hope and Change. The mood of the day was optimism. The big change had finally come. Nearly two years later, they returned to Washington D.C. on buses for Jon Stewart’s clownfest, but the mood had changed. Contempt had replaced optimism. The left wing of the Democratic party had reverted to its Bush era sneers and jibes.

The mocking costumes and signs had been staples of Anti-War rallies and Anti-Bush rallies from 2001 to 2008. But this was not a rally against a war or any specific policy, it was something far more unique. It was a rally held by the dominant political ideology with no other purpose than to mock the opposition party that they were about to lose to. Broken down to its core elements, it was nothing more than a stunningly expensive and widely hyped sore-loser fest. And it will probably go down in history as the highest profile temper tantrum ever thrown in Washington D.C.

This article correctly points out that the "Restore the Sanity" meeting was infantile and a gigantic middle finger at Americans (including freepers). Daniel Greenfield is one of the most brilliant editorial bloggers around IMHO.

Yes. Great article, and great point.

Actually, when you think about it, the bigger that rally was, the stupider the people attending it were. That’s what happens when you choose a clown for your pundit-in-chief.

I found this interesting, how the left had nothing going for it but cyncism and sneers; then Obama came along, and at last they were able to leave the absolutely toxic mental state of cyncism and actually ‘hope’ and be positive about something -— anything. To get that lifting feeling.

I think that was the real draw for a lot of juvenile leftists. To get out of that toxic state of relentless negativism and hauteur, rejection. It’s not a mentally healthy place to be.

and now where are they? right back to the same bitter and unproductive negativism.

In other words I am looking at it through one small prism, one facet, that of mental states.

What is not clear - and has never been asked by any of Obama’s/Soros’ ABCNNBCBS media - is who paid for the elaborate costumes, stages, sound and music systems, power, lights, porta-potties and support staff for the “free event” .....

Gee. Wouldn’t be a contribution in kind for “some”political party going to an election just 3 days later?

Charles Krauthammer summed it up well when he said the rally was “irrelevant.”

Well its kind of interesting. Their rally called for the return to sanity. Well we did and booted their socialist asses out! And a message to Nancy, “Whose turf is it now?”

So it was rather successful. Thanks Stewart and Colbert.

Most excellent article and right on. You should send it to Bill O’Reilly. I’m tired of hearing him defend Jon Stewart.
