Fans of former President George W. Bush began lining up Monday night for a book signing this morning at a North Dallas bookstore.

An estimated 4,000 people, some of whom camped out overnight, showed up this morning at the Borders at Preston Road and Royal Lane for a chance to meet the former commander in chief and buy his memoir, Decision Points.

Bush, wearing a coat and tie and accompanied by security personnel, sat at a table and began signing books nearly a half-hour ahead of his scheduled time to start.

Terry and Tammy Jones was the first in line at Borders, with Tammy securing her spot at 2 p.m. Monday.

"I waited 18 hours for a kiss on the hand," she said. "It was worth it."

I refuse to watch any interviews on the MSM. I’ll wait until he’s on FNC. I wish he would boycott the MSM too, but I realize he’s trying to sell his book (which I am buying).

I agree. I wish he’d come to my area for a book signing.

I’m doing what you are doing — buying the book and only watching/listening to interviews on Fox or with radio hosts like Limbaugh, etc.

GWB was just on Rush’s program — great to hear from him. He indicated he had signed at least 2400 books that morning near Dallas. If I lived there, I’d have been in line.

He will be here at the Reagan Library in a couple of weeks and it’s a sold out event, but I will go park along side the entrance road so I can at least ‘wave.’

I never thought he would have this type of excitement. Is he going to go state to state? Good for him on the amount that showed.

I haven’t been able to find a schedule for the book signing tour (if there is one).

Best thing would be to check his facebook page for updates.

Yea he sounded good, except the part where he said “Doing the jobs Americans won’t do.” I lost my lunch at that line!

I work down the road from this event....There was an accident on the tollway so exited off to take Preston to Royal, forgetting about GW....what a crowd!!!!!

I saw the 4 protesters on the corner and looked at them and laughed.

It was neat to know I was that close to GW.....our office administrator's husband got there @ 4:30 to get his book signed. I guess he is an incredibly gracious man....I miss him and yes I was late for work even if I did leave 10 minutes early.....

Me, too.

I grew up in Dallas. My folks still live there.

I know right where that book store is. God bless GWB.

Yes, it’s the 18th or 19th I believe — saw it on the Library’s website. I was at the Mark Levin book signing and speech/dinner back in January but this one is sold out. I may drive up there and try to hang around anyway...

I should point out that the Mark Levin event was totally sold out, too, but not so far in advance..............
