Just announced on TV. Good, populist move I think. He said he has discussed the issue with security personnel and it will be okay.
I expected him to opt for the smaller plane Nancy rejected because it had to make a stop where it would be perfect for flight into Cinncinati. I love how he’s making Nazi look like a spoiled witch.

Boehner will almost undoubtedly be traveling with security. Pelosi always had US Capitol Police traveling with her, even on the private jet (you can see it in the logs).
The first left-wing loon that harasses Boehner will get the smackdown. It will make news, and the rest will get the hint.
Or do like waiters and waitresses do. Work for $2.60 an hr and rely on tips to survive.

He had better do it if he’s going to say it. But, I think he probably will. He’s a low-key kind of guy but he got elected on a no-earmark stance, and as far as I know he’s stuck to it, so I suspect roughing it with the state pols and movie stars in first class will be good enough for him. Actually, it would be fine for most if you didn’t have to go through the damn security line and loiter at the gate. You can actually SMELL the coach passengers in the summer.
And sit in the middle seat between two enormous mexicans who have just been eating burritos.
I’m not crazy about having Boehner as Speaker because I don’t think he’s the sharpest knife in the drawer and he’s more establishment than I would prefer, but I do think he’s a good, honest man.
I wish him luck as Speaker and I hope he holds the conservative line as much as he possibly can.
This was a good start. It shows he’s not tone deaf.
It’s also cameras being present that turn a seemingly normal pol into an SNL caricature. I’ve met quite a few myself, all fairly pleasant, save for one. The then (1988) junior senator from Massachusetts, John Forbes Kerry. He sat next to me and a friend at a Boston Bruins game. He’s terrible in public. But his date was sweet and very nice to us. A pretty young thing named Morgan Fairchild.
I thought that as minority leader he had a jet at his disposal already. It was not nearly as grand as the speakers but he had one to begin with.
I think what he is doing is great, but a bit overboard at this point. His security needs to be weighed into traveling. Being exposed to anyone who may intend him harm or even unintended harm (but being one of the crowd in an attack) is too risky.
If anything happens to him who takes his place as successor in line?
Since when was it such a security risk for Pelosi to refuel?
Let’s be real, this is a great excuse, but that’s all it really is.
Also, instead of using the AF, she could have handled traveling public for just one time.
She will now have to travel with the public and even the constituents she works for.
