Great post & thread.

I recall a discussion awhile ago, about how to get those in DC to take notice. Revolved around ‘traffic’. Lots & lots of vehicles....preferably big ones.

It sure would be a shame if some convoy of trucks, ALL took a wrong turn off an exit ramp, and dozens & dozens of them wound up in DC blocking traffic. :)

And, of course, just a coincidence that it was the same day that a legion of patriots were hanging around the capital..

That is something that would really get the attention of all the government workers (salaries paid by us) - planned traffic disruptions. I'd like to see protests at the Capitol combined with an "action" on the beltway where dozens (or hundreds, would be great) of vehicles fill the lanes side by side (like a marching platoon) and block the lanes by driving slowly enough to snarl traffic, but not so slowly as to violate the law - the idea being that no one can pass the 'blocks', and the bureaucrats who are trying to run our lives are seriously inconvenienced as they try to escape the protests in the city. 4, 8, 12 blocks of vehicles spaced around the beltway, starting at protest time, driving around till 8 or 10 at night would really let them know we are everywhere.

The model for this, of course, is the truckers strikes of the 70's, where the truckers protested the rising fuel costs and lower margins by blocking the interstates with slow-moving trucks, side by side. At any given time, it only took 2 of them to get people's attention to their plight.

Actually, we should plan for these kinds of activities simultaneously in cities around the country, for people who can't make it to the DC protest. The only journalists who would be able to ignore these kinds of protests would be the reporters who walk to work...
