TSA Pat Down...Mountain or Mole Hill?

Posted on 11/14/2010 10:01:10 AM PST by NCBraveheart

Question. Is too much being made of this TSA pat-down issue? I have been reading a lot of stories on line that this is tantamount to sexual assault under cover of authority. Are these X-Ray scanners that bad? I just have to wonder how we ever flew prior to 9/11. I am watching a YouTube video some guy caught on his phone after refusing a groin check what is scary is the recording over the PA in a soothing voice that security is everyone’s job. Very “1984” So what do y’all think??? Me, I am against it I think the TSA is a waste of tax money and and infringement of our liberty

They won’t frisk you, if you let them taked naked pictures of you instead...

All the while cargo packages aren’t being checked that can blow up the airplames.

This perversion coming out of the Obama administration is out of the pit of Hell itself.

They are desensitizing, degrading and attempting to control the bodies of the populace. Your God-given Constitutional rights don't end just because you're getting on an airplane.

Yet they molest women and children because they have been given the green light by the Pervs at the top.

Now we know the meaning of “Yes, we can!”

(Opt out, that is.)

Here’s the problem. We must all be searched because we cannot profile the real problem:

It’s a suicide pact to cling to Marxist PC rather than deal with the threat.

Bears repeating!!!

Ever since 9/11, the government has had the "punish the victim" mentality. Each time the Islamofascists do something, the response is to punish/inconvenience/humiliate the American traveler while making them pay good money for same. Do we as a public have the cojones to take a stand against some barely employable TSA goon handling those cojones?

As someone posted earlier in this thread, STUDY EL AL, and that cancerous political correctness be damned.

Yep. Just like the Second Amendment was supposed to function. Arms parity, and even with skilled opponents, the sheer force of arms of people desperate to preserve their lives would sway the battle.

The alternative? You're dead if they succeed. So you might as well give it a shot.

Of course, such empowering concepts must be kept from the masses, or they might get ideas in other parts of their lives about how little government they need.

"Follow The Money" fails as a doctrine to ascertaining truth in a capitalistic society. There are just too many ways to make a lot of money ~ and if money is your main motivator, you and I could probably still make some money with the old fashioned "protection" racket.

What we have here is a machine which STILL DOES NOT DO THE JOB. They're getting no more out of you than if you just dropped trou in public ~ and that would be much faster and safer.

The real risk is INSIDE where terrorists are going to load up explosives and detonators. There's already been a case of such a bomb being used in an attempt to take out a Saudi prince.

There are undoubtedly others.

UNLESS you do a body cavity search you still can't find these things.

TSA is not advocating full body searches, nor are they advocating that you drop trou ~ they'll have you hauled away for that anyway ~ as they have done so in the past.

What's going on is they want you to step into the box and be painted with ultraviolet light.

So why?

That being said, and the last time I flew out of our farthest North (north of Anchorage) airport was just last August. the TSA agents were impressive! They were quiet, professional, competent, and helpful when needed. Their blue uniforms were pressed and crisp. I had to tell the last agent that I dealt with that I appreciated the job the were doing, especially after what I had seen in other airports. The shift manager came over.
PS they looked like a team, and gave the impression that they may have been prior military.

you said...You would rather be scanned than felt-up!

There many who can not be scanned, such as myself due to a cochlear implant and my husband, who has a defibrillator implant there fore we will be ‘felt-up’ or sexually assaulted by more than likely a African American, as they hold most of those chosen jobs. call me racist if you want, but I will not be flying in the future as I will not subject myself to this humiliation.

Thanks. Folks I just wanted to know if I was over the top in my belief that this whole dept is of no real value. I didn’t want to give the impression that I am in favor of this crap. I have a couple friends who are TSA screeners and it amazes me how they can justify what they are doing as in any way helpful.

If the Homeland Security powers-that-be have any political sense, they should be looking at reviving the "Trusted Traveler" program and implementing it.

Stubbornness being what it is, however, TT isn't likely to be implemented unless at least one new requirement is added. Doing so would let the people who shot it down in the first place save face.

What actually frosts me, is the obligatory clip on the evening news of a couple of people who actually enjoy sexual assault.

Do they air anyone who actually objects? No. “Couldn’t find anyone that objects” I suppose.

What an obvious bit of propaganda...

I posted these comments to another FReeper on a separate thread recently:

“Maybe it's time for all the decent TSA agents to refuse to be part of the molestation program. I'm sure most didn't sign up for this when they took the job. Maybe it's time for a strike and a few days off work if nobody will listen to them. These decent people are being desensitized to the atrocious behavior they are being required to do. It could turn a decent person into someone they themselves don't even recognize because they get so used to treating people like objects to be probed and prodded.

The Nazis were great at turning average everyday citizens into sadistic killers through desensitization techniques. I'm not saying that's where this is going. Just that mild brainwashing and Hegelian methods go a long way in furthering fascistic thinking and poisoning the minds of those involved.

(Or) Maybe your friend needs to find a new line of work.”

“Ever read the 4th Amendment? The problem here is that Muslims and foreigners aren't profiled. Common sense isn't used and all of us are having our Constitutionally protected rights abused at the hands of a corrupt Administration.

Bush's TSA kept us all safe for years without the strip search machines and vaginal/breast and penile crotch grab sexual assaults.

These methods are THIS administration's attempt at further humiliating and desensitizing the American public to the abuse of 4th Amendment rights. An attempt to beat us down psychologically into submission. Many a tin pot dictator's regime has done the same to the citizenry in the past. But we are Americans and are supposed to value liberty, freedom and our God-given Constitutional rights more then other dumbed down or gullible populations throughout the world.

I don't believe we've lost our heart yet, and this litmus test being used by this administration isn't floating with the general population. Thus the public backlash.

The irony in all this is that the same liberal idiots who say a woman has a right to her own body in regards to killing an innocent child have no problem having them groped by complete strangers, male or female. Hypocrites all!

One more note: This shows that REAL men don't exist in the TSA. Any man, who calls himself a man, but would stand by and allow women and children be subjected to these molestations is NO man at all.”

Like I said earlier, I've been doing a lot of required business traveling this year, and my perception is that the TSA staff at smaller airports like Anchorage, Harrisburg (PA), Lexington (KY), and Roanoke (VA) are far more professional and "customer friendly" that the typical losers and affirmative action flunkies found at the really big airports like Dulles, BWI, LAX, Philly, etc.

And for some strange reason, the security staff at KCI (Kansas City) is NOT TSA, but a private security firm, which is even stricter than TSA, if you can believe that.

Yep. And the TSA spokeswoman was interviewed, saying “we haven’t seen a rise in complaints”. Right. You go to the TSA web site and check out their “blog”. They’re getting HUNDREDS of complaints. Which, they don’t even answer, by the way.

A direct written email complaint to the TSA was answered with “thanks for your input; check out our web site”. Do you really need to know much more than that?

“Mountain or Mole Hill?” I guess it depends on how much one like getting groped by strangers.

As for me, I’m not flying until they return to sanity.
