So I think, that while I certainly disagree with some of what he did, calling him a RINO is foolish. He is a center-right Republican, and not at all "in name only." That's a misnomer.

Really? Why don't you tell that to Jim Robinson?

A RINO is a Republican who either does not abide by the constitution or at a minimum is off the official Republican party platform more than he’s on it.

And, yes, Bush was a RINO. As is Romney, Rudy, McCain, Huckabee, Graham, Snowe, Collins, Arnold and many others.

I supported Bush even though he was a RINO and gave in to Arnold at the last minute, even went with McCain after he gave us Sarah (and ONLY because of Sarah). Never again!

It’s been proven over and over again that the two-faced lying liberal reach around RINO will screw you in the end every time!

That’s what the Tea Party rebellion is all about!

NO MORE BIG GOVERNMENT!! NO MORE SOCIALISTS!! And NO MORE RINOS!!

I absolutely disagree with JimRob on this, rabs. (He won't be surprised that we don't agree on everything. :)

Republicans come in various degrees of conservatism....always have, probably always will. There have always been Republicans who were far, far, far to the left of President Bush.

A RINO is one who doesn't act like a Republican of any stripe (people like John McCain and Lindsay Graham).

President Bush did many conservative things and held the line in many ways - our national defense, the defense of the sanctity of life, refusing to raise taxes.

He was not, therefore a RINO.

And as I've told you before, if you use that term as a pejorative against everyone, it becomes meaningless, and can't be used against anyone.

You, in your overuse and abuse of the term have rendered it meaningless. Words mean things......or at least they're supposed to.

Besides which, your hero Ron Paul is far more of a RINO than George Bush is. In fact, he's not really a Republican at all, is he? And he certainly has some liberal views that most conservatives find disturbing.

George W. Bush, is, in fact, at the very least, the second most conservative President in American history.....and he is most certainly a Republican.

btw, a RINO wouldn't have selected entirely conservative federal judges and two stellar SC Justices.

(Don't bother with the hackneyed Meirs line, Alito's on the bench, nominated by Bush).

I repeat.......RINO's don't get awarded by conservative organizations for their stellar conservative judges. Bush has been.
