SAN DIEGO — John Tyner won't be pheasant hunting in South Dakota with his father-in-law any time soon.

Tyner was simultaneously thrown out of San Diego International Airport on Saturday morning for refusing to submit to a security check and threatened with a civil suit and $10,000 fine if he left.

And he got the whole thing on his cell phone. Well, the audio at least.

The 31-year-old Oceanside software programmer was supposed to leave from Lindbergh Field on Saturday morning and until a TSA agent directed him toward one of the recently installed full-body scanners, Tyner seemed to be on his way.

Well, there you are. Perfect. Dog, grope or scan.

I'll take the dog. Well . . . only if the dog is an Irish Setter because I used to have one and she was as dumb as a brick. Best bird dog I ever had, tho.

>>This is unconstitutional. <<

Please don’t throw that word around like a liberal (I am not accusing you of being a liberal, merely intemperance). The constant and unsupported use of the word “unconstitutional” has watered it down to the point of meaninglessness. Unless and until you can state exactly what provision of the Constitution is being violated then it isn’t.

Flying is not a Right.

>>Plus, it’s stupid and invasive and certainly does not work.<<
THAT, OTOH, is exactly on point.

"Look. I don't know what all the fuss is about. These X-ray machines are safe. When correctly calibrated, you could go through them all day and night repeatedly, with less radiation than from one glass of tomato juice. Our excellent TSA Agents are trained to refuse all monies offered for printouts of the images scanned.

"You will also always have the option of opting out, and going through the Rub Down process. This is a quick, pleasant sensation by the trained hands of our Agents. Many people find it calms them before their flights. We screen our Agents and do not hire convicted pedophiles or sex offenders. Your genitalia will be softly and swiftly rubbed by sober professionals who have a job to do.

"Get over your paranoia! This is what will keep our nation safe! The system works!"

I’m ecstatic that this nutjob won’t be flying anymore and possibly delaying my flight.

Did you listen to the audio, read his account. I did not get the impression he is a nutjob.

“Flying is not a Right.”

Freedom of assembly is. Freedom from unreasonable search is also a right.

Both are being infringed upon.

What a bunch of sissy whiners.

I remember the good old days on this site where supporters of socialist security measures were zotted on the spot as trolls.

"Papers, please," eh, comrade?

I don't care if you claim to have served in the military. You can't convince me that you truly love this country when you're willing to support government agents ogling and groping our sons and daughters. Such a willingness to kowtow to government as the solution to all our problems absolutely reeks of everything that makes the left so odious and despicable.

There's nothing conservative about supporting unnecessary government intrusion into the lives of American citizens. Your advocacy of such leads me to question your credentials.

Travel is a right. Flying, as a form of travel, is a right. Travel on a common carrier is even a MORE, not less, protected right.

The last time I flew I wore simple clothes. Shorts, flip flops and a T-shirt. No belt, no metal of any kind. Only my wallet.

Makes it real easy to go through security. I watch the trouble people go through - removing belts, etc.

When they got dressed knowing they are going on a flight, did they really think they needed their belt, lace shoes, etc.?

Yes I do. Scanner dose and at-altitude air flight dose are both measured in REM.

We screen our Agents and do not hire convicted pedophiles or sex offenders.

The key word is 'convicted'. With this new TSA policy, these kind of preverts will never have to worry about being convicted and they can fulfill their perverted jollies.

The homos are probably cross-dressing and/or having sex-change operations, and then applying for TSA jobs to molest many new victims daily, without fear of ever being arrested.

Read the link:

“...people were rushing past us towards their gates. Most of them were avoiding eye contact; maybe it was too much for them to actual see the reality and the state of their mobility on display before them. Some were shooting quick wondering glances. A very few brave ones actually slowed down or paused to whisper things like, ‘This is disgusting,’ or ‘they have no right to treat people like this,’ or, ‘this is a shame,’…

That i think is one of the ways to end this. Everybody should stop at each event & turn on their cell phone cameras.

“What about the white South Africans, are they getting let in for “humantarian” reasons?”

It’s a fact that their lives are in danger.

There’s another side to that whole story, you know.
