The midterms not only dealt a big shock to the Democrats, but also sent a message to President Obama. According to the new POLITICO "Power and the People" poll, only 26 percent of the public believes he will now be re-elected as President in 2012.
This difference of expectations could mislead the president if he is listening to the Beltway chatter right here in D.C. he may just find a lot of comfort in this assessment by insiders , and that may lead to actions that dont fully adjust for the sea change that has occurred among the general public. (See also: Poll: D.C. sees midterms differently)
This big difference can partially be explained by the different ways that the two groups see the economy and the world today. Seventy percent of D.C. elites admit that they have been affected less than the average citizen when it comes to the economic downturn. The elites see the Tea Party as purely a fad (70 percent). In contrast, those who say that the President will not be re-elected see the country as headed in the wrong direction by 82 percent, the economy in the wrong direction by 81 percent and overwhelmingly want repeal of healthcare at the top of the agenda. Among the quarter of the public that sees his re-election as probable, they see the economy turning around by nearly 3 to 1. They are the outliers of the electorate, suggesting that the President has a lot more work to do to get back on track for a second term.

Epic Fail
Lepanto PING !
Isn’t Politico a left wing thingy—or am I mistaken?
I wonder if he will run again. He did the job long enough to get the pension, and he could just do public speaking gigs and play golf and congratulate himself in his post-presidential life.
This presidential thing is too much hassle and too little adulation.
26!? Still too high IMHO.
“Back on track”? Are they kidding? The president never WAS on track in the first place.
Well, there are those Dimo’s that would vote for hitler if he were running against Jesus Christ, rather than vote for a republican.
Morning Joe, on MSDNC is doing all it can to prop up the incompetent boy king. They were pimping some poll that showed Obama’s approval at 48%, vs. 50% disapproval.
I was just on Reuters, (linked from Drudge), the comments I read were 100% negative towards BHO.
The new GOP controlled House has their work cut out for them if they want to screw this one up, (we all know they’re capable).
Sorry, got distracted reading about the royal brat and his romantic holiday in Kenya....
Yep, this poll gets it right, must be painful for elitist Mark Penn to even write these words. Maybe a few percent of the elites will wake up and smell the coffee, but I’d bet the vast majority just keep on keepin’ on...which is great news for us!
The Bamster doesn’t care. He’s been up all night watching basketball.
That drop to 26% is probably the same drop I’ve noticed in “Hopey, Changey” and other kenyan bumper stickers! A year ago, a Prius or a Subaru were almost guaranteed to have the loser displayed on the bumper. Today, hardly any!
Those 26% still believe in the Tooth Fairy too, I’ll bet. They need to wake up & realize he isn’t real. He’s a made up puppet for Soro’s and company!
fail (fl)
v. failed, fail·ing, fails
v.intr.
1. To prove deficient or lacking; perform ineffectively or inadequately: failed to fulfill their promises; failed in their attempt to reach the summit.
2. To be unsuccessful: an experiment that failed.
3. To receive an academic grade below the acceptable minimum.
4. Barack Obama
Exactly how Obama must feel. As a narcissist, he is incapable of feeling responsible. He will claim that the fault of his unpopularity was/is because of his detractors, racism, or whatever he can point to that he feels will excuse him from blame.
On the other hand, remember this: If the GOP is successful in turning around the economy, creating jobs, and restoring a level of respect for our country...the Democrats will claim that Obama did it. If there is a positive movement that results from GOP efforts...the Democrats will surely point to Obama as the one who should be re-elected because it happened during his administration. Just watch. The GOP is between a rock and a hard place because the Democrats will protect Obama either way our country is affected.
He WILL NOT run! IMHO. Eligibility issue still unresolved.
Starting now, compile We The People’s list of RATs and RINOs who will be voted out in 2012. Organize patriots to ensure that list becomes reality. Notify each Senator and House RAT and RINO that they’re on the People’s list and We The People will be watching and exposing their votes 24/7 from now until the 2012 elections. Immediately start finding Conservative candidates to run against each of them.
It has become quite apparent that they did not hear our message on November 2nd, 2010.
