Rep. Duncan Blasts TSA "Pat Downs," Scanners on House Floor

VIDEO HERE OF HOUSE FLOOR SPEECH

________________________________________________________

The text of Rep. Duncan’s speech is copied below:

Mr. Speaker:

A nationwide revolt is developing over the body scanners at the airports, and it should.

Hundreds of thousands of frequent fliers who fly each week are upset about getting these frequent doses of radiation.

Parents are upset about being forced to have their children radiated or being touched inappropriately by an unrelated adult.

There is already plenty of security at the airport, but now we are going to spend up to $300 million to install 1,000 scanners.

This is much more about money than it is about security.

The former Secretary of Homeland Security, Michael Chertoff, represents Rapiscan, the company which is selling these scanners to his former department.

Far too many federal contracts are sweetheart, insider deals.

Companies hire former high ranking federal officials, and then magically, those companies get hugely profitable federal contracts.

The American people should not have to choose between having full-body radiation or a very embarrassing, intrusive pat-down every time they fly, as if they were criminals.

We need a little more balance and common sense on this.

I never trusted "Wormtongue" Chertoff. He is a pimp.

The fascists in government don’t know what to do! It’s unheard of! The people are actually reacting and rejecting the overreaching intrusiveness of government! What will they try next to keep the folks down!

God bless Rep. John Duncan.

I hope the GOP follows "GropeGate" to the bitter end, and burns a bunch of thugs who need to be exposed for this blatant power grab and unconsitutional violation of the rights of the American people.

The more sunshine put on GropeGate, the worse it will get. You will find that TSA out and out lied about a lot of things, first and foremost being that they don't save scans.

Here is a little hint to buy a vowel: you can't use the scans as evidence in court unless they are saved, and those USB ports on the scanners are not for uploading Call of Duty games.

Blast away, or else by the end of the decade passengers will be forced to drink a laxative and then sit on a glass toilet bowl in public view until they crap.

When he first appeared on the scene during the Whitewater scandals, he seemed quite solid. He even disagreed with D’Amato in public, and pushing the correct agenda.

Then it seemed someone flipped a switch, and the guy was coming from an opposite direction.

I don’t trust the guy today farther than I can spit.

I don’t like seeing good people turned. Of course I may have misread his actions all along, but I don’t believe so. He wanted to go after the guilty. D’Amato was simply coasting to oblivion at that point, and a real jackass.

Editorial of the day on TSA Horndogs. “Heads up. Got a cutie for you!”

"A pilot from Skywest was going through security in Denver with his 18-year-old daughter and overheard a TSA officer saying into his headset, “heads up, got a cutie for you.”

I hear ya, and understand your concern.

I applaud anyone who upholds the rights of the American people, and when they do the right thing, I applaud louder.

Here in NJ, the local legislature is telling the TSA that what they are doing is against the 4th ammendment, and TSA does not even know how to react.

If NJ is in the lead for this, I think TSA's groping days are numbered.

Yeah, but watch for the 'head fake.' If (heaven forbid) there's a bad terrorist event, Obama may very well try to hang the whole thing around the Republican's necks because they objected to these sexual assault body searches.

I'm not saying it'll work. I'm just saying I expect them to try it.

I posted earlier this morning that BJ Clinton, for all his faults, was a masterful politician. By now, he would have turned this disaster around to HIS political advantage.

The Community Organizer is a little slow on the uptake.

So Chertoff is making money off these scanners. Who would have thunk it?

I can’t stand that piece of crap Chertoff. He is an enemy of the American Republic.

By the way, I was reading some of the posts over at flyertalk.com under the Travel and Security section. A number of people posted their hassles last July and August with these scanners, as well as recently.

A passenger in Pittsburgh in August tried to tell his fellow passengers they had the option of opting out of the “nude-o-scopes” as the frequent flyers call them. He was told repeatedly to shut up by the TSA goons. A “two-striper” came over, shouted in his face, “Do You Want to Fly Today?”, threatened to call over a police officer, and demanded to know what the passenger was “hiding.” Eventually, the passenger was allowed to board, after having everything in his wallet examined.

In Richmond just recently, a passenger was told there was no “opt-out.” You are REQUIRED to go through the scanner. The passenger was late for his flight, so he complied. There were no signs saying the machines were optional.

Another passenger in Las Vegas said he was given a very rough and aggressive pat down by a TSA groper last summer when the passenger refused the x-ray. This passenger said the screener patted down his legs so hard that his pants came down a little. The same screener roughly patted down his chest and back, and also squeezed his penis and testicles.

Back in 2004, two Chechneyan (not sure of the spelling) women hijacked two Russian airliners on domestic flights and blew them up. The bombers were upset that the Russian army killed their husbands. In response, women st U.S. airports were having their breasts patted, squeezed and groped by TSA “screeners,” including, in some cases, screeners who were men. After thousands of women complained and after a national uproar, the policy was dropped.

So is....wait for it.............George Soros!!! He owns 11,000 shares of the scanner company's stock! That's walking around money for him though.

Yes, you wouldn’t generally expect New Jersey to be in the forefront of individual rights. I agree with your conclusion.

If I were a state’s attorney general, I would glom on to suits like this ASAP. I think states miss out on wielding as much power as they can, by overlooking stuff like this.

The TSA needs some push-back, and I think this is a great way to do that.

I have a better suggestion — only muslims should be scanned and groped. After all, it is because, and only because of them that we have all this turmoil at airport security.

The money quote:

“A pilot from Skywest was going through security in Denver with his 18-year-old daughter and overheard a TSA officer saying into his headset, ‘heads up, got a cutie for you.’”

This is going to go viral. The protest and anger is going to grow exponentially. The quote above needs to be spread throughout the US to all potential passengers.

I suspect more and more stories like this are gonna come out.

He can try. What would really happen is that the groundswell in favor of profiling would be unstoppable. That may be exactly what they fear.

I believe you're correct. The States should be howling and state AGs should sue for having the federal government overstep their authority.

I live in St. Louis. The City of St. Louis owns Lambert International Airport. The City and/or County of St. Louis should be responsible for the security of the airport. The county is responsible for the security of courthouses, and other county property. Same goes with the city. How or why is the Federal government even involved?

I know the answer to that. More unconstitutional knee-jerk legislation that was signed into law nearly a decade ago. DHS, and the TSA should have never came to fruition.

Soros sold it already? Wonder why.

Sanjey (spelling?) Gupta is also a large owner. Maurice Strong, algore & Mikhail Gorbachev are just a few financial beneficiaries of Sexual Assault Scanners.
