No of course not. No stick and rudder airplane has ever crashed. Ask any F/A18 pilot leaving the deck with his hands on the cockpit grab handles.. with the mission processor flying the plane.
We couldn't have won WW II with the cost of aircraft today (even factoring in inflation). Lose three aircaft out of one squadron in a raid, and that costs over a Billion dollars to replace.
Because of costs, we aren't buying that many F-22s anyway. The F-35 ain't happening the way it was promised either.
Airpower is dying a slow death.
That implies the F-22 is not a generation of technology ahead of its potential aggressors or that the P-40 Warhawk and F4F Wildcat were a generation ahead of the Bf-109 and A6M Zero.
It seems to me the F-16 ain't a bad bird for the money....something like 40-50M per copy.
Looking for updates but there aren’t any. It’s still dark there with the current local time at 6:39 AM and I show sunrise at 9:14 AM. Prayers go out to him and his family.
Bet you can't say that again.
