Iran has designed and successfully tested an air defense system with the capabilities of Russia's S-300 system, PressTV reported on Thursday.

"We have developed the system by upgrading systems like S-200 and we have tested it successfully using all our potential and experience in the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, the Army and the Defense Ministry," Brigadier General Mohammad Hassan Mansourian told the Iranian television station.

A more accurate headline would be:

"Iran Says it Successfully Tests Own S-300 Missile Defense System"

The test omitted the R-782(A) system S-300 over ride that is in possession of the IDF and US Air Force.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Did you see the thread . . . maybe on ATS . . . where the Navy supposedly admitted the missile/plane was a missile?

Yes I did. And no, they didn't.

It was an unsourced standard missile test notification from August.

Hmmmmm

Welllllllllll to beat the dead horse a bit more . . .

to hassle you slightly more . . .

and maybe just for general cussedness . . . here’s some info I just received.

Yup, it was just an multi engine plane that produced a single contrail, and it made a course correction that would have torn UPS902 alleged flight apart.

What idiocy! Convoluted idiocy:

Infamous Contrail (aka the ‘Mystery Missile’) Spotted in Satellite Image

When an impressive contrail was spotted off the California coast last week, it sparked widespread reports of a mystery missile launch in the area – a theory the Pentagon squashed after initial investigations. But, the odd contrail fooled more than the public and media, and was even seen from space.

After watching footage of the Nov. 8 contrail, Patrick Minnis, a contrail expert in the Science Directorate at NASA’s Langley Research Center in Hampton, Va., assumed it came from a missile, as many others did.

He even said so in response to a phone call from a reporter.

Watch the video from 1:22 to 1:32. Can you see a missile?

I guess the anti-grav booster took over, eh?

And since it showed up on satellite surveillance as a horizontal contrail, where is the vertical flight all the Missile Truthers swear they see?

Calm down, people. There are real threats out there. No need to invent fantasies.

Haven’t been uncalm about it.

It is puzzling . . . somewhat . . .

that so many ‘experts’ disagree so much.

Don’t know what to make of that. It is interesting.

Besides . . . we don’t tend to disagree much at all.

And while I don’t really have a clue about what the thing really was for certain . . .

it’s still a bit fun to niggle you about every so often.

I mean . . . where else can a programming expert and a psychologist pretend to be missile experts!

I think, also, it’s become for me . . .

kind of a symbolic case of

a complex technical sort of thing—at least a little bit—on the face of it . . .

which should be fairly easy to solve . . .

and yet many days later . . . there’s still lots of pros and cons about it from one end of the continuum to the other.

I think THAT is as fascinating as anything else about the case.

I think it’s a bit of a harbinger of the complexities ahead when really complex hard to discern things that are also very important begin to crowd the nightly news . . . with the sheeple being led down the yellow brick road and little truth can be had from any direction about much of anything.

Anyway—I can stop bothering you about it.

It is a bit interesting to me sociologically and psychologically. Therefore what, no clue. It’s just interesting.

I just add up the supporting objective data in the columns labeled Contrail and Not Contrail.

So far, the sums are Contrail = lots, and Not Contrail = zero.

Case closed. Not Contrail loses by default by not even showing up on the field.
