Perry says consider military in Mexico

AUSTIN — GOP Gov. Rick Perry, who continues to insist he's not interested in the presidency, is nevertheless always ready to tell the federal government how to do a better job on such matters as border security — including indicating the U.S. should be open to sending military into Mexico to help fight the drug war.

Appearing on MSNBC on Thursday, Perry was asked, “Would you advocate military involvement in Mexico on the Mexico side of the border to help Mexico in this drug war?”

Perry answered: “I think we have to use every aspect of law enforcement that we have, including the military. I think you have the same situation as you had in Colombia. Obviously, Mexico has to approve any type of assistance that we can give them.

“But the fact of the matter is, these are people who are highly motivated with money. They are vicious. They are armed to the teeth. I want to see them defeated. And any means that we can to run these people off our border and to save Americans' lives we need to be engaged in.”

Perry has long called for more federally paid National Guard troops on the border and has cited the state's efforts to try to fill the void caused by what he describes as the failed federal effort on border security.

Thursday's answer reflected a difference in tone, though not in substance, from one he gave in an interview this summer with the San Antonio Express-News and Houston Chronicle, when he was asked whether the U.S. should consider sending the military into Mexico as it did in 1916 after border violence.

I remember reading a statement long ago from Kissinger that (paraphrased) the American people at some point will be happy to have UN troops on our borders and patroling American cities. Our own government has made this all possible for years. Remember the end justifies the means. Its hard today to not believe this is all the grand plan of the leftist.

Sending troops into Mexico would be the biggest mistake ever. We would be overun with hordes of refugees. I am not ready for that scenario like we have seen in many african countries.

My earlier reply to the person that suggested legalization had a “not’ left out. Should have been:

“Well, I’m not quite sure I’m ready to go that far, but I will say this:”

But other than that, the remainder is true. As long as there is a DEMAND for illegal drugs, there will be SUPPLIERS of illegal drugs.

If you want to stop the problem, something has to go: Demand or illegality.

I would prefer it to be demand, but some compromise might have to be made.

I was pointing the attitude of many drug users (and those that support drug use) that it does have bigger consequenses than they think.

You shouldn’t use illegal drugs for the same reason you shouldn’t purchase stolen merchandise: it encourages the illegal activity. In one case theft, in the other case drug gangs.

The govt does things for our children with laws like:

1. Killing babies.
2. Having TSA molest small children.
3. Getting are post-children young adults killed in Iraq and Afghan because our children cannot shoot back at Muslims. This is because idiots who watch TV voted for a Muslim and ALL of TV supports him 100%.

Why cant we send O’bama? He fixed America.

Yes! Let him bring Hope and Change to Mexico! Unfortunately, just like here, he would be on the side of the enemy - the drug dealers, terrorists and new Democrat voters crossing the border.

You are right. It is! I used to poo poo the idea of Jewish bankers controlling the world but that was because they kept everything so quiet and behind the scenes. Now they seem to feel no need for that. Soros is the lead man now but there are many others involved, including Kissinger. Their plan seems to be to loot most of the world's money and control through limited capitalism. They probably won't rule like the Communists and other tyrants did but instead keep us going to replenish the money supply, sort of like a fly wrapped in a web to provide food for the spider over time.

It’s a good thing Geo. Bush didn’t institute this, the MSM might have gotten outraged.
