TSA: Some gov't officials to skip airport security

WASHINGTON — Cabinet secretaries, top congressional leaders and an exclusive group of senior U.S. officials are exempt from toughened new airport screening procedures when they fly commercially with government-sanctioned security details.

New heightened security procedures by the Transportation Security Administration, which require either a scan by a full-body detector or an intimate personal pat-down, have spurred passenger outrage in the lead-up to the Thanksgiving holiday airport crush.

The senior government officials can opt out of such measures if they fly accompanied by government security guards approved by the TSA. The agency would not explain why it makes these exceptions, but many of the exempted government officials have gone through several levels of security clearances, including FBI background checks.

So know you want to control what YOU think others should do.

So suggesting we strive for excellence in language is seen by you as a desire to control? Grow up a little before you post any more.

Everyone has an ‘opinion’ - a dime a dozen; thus null and void.

suggesting we strive .... as a desire to control?

When YOU suggest that WE.. YES, it is a desire to control.

Grow up a little before you post any more

IOW, you can't handle being told what to do - but have NO problem telling others. Are you mature enough to see that?

Your intimidation tactic doesn't work - liberals use it all the time and it's worn out.

I have a concealed carry permit from the State of New York, which means that I have gone through several levels of security screening from the local county sheriff, NYS Troopers, ATF, and FBI. I guess that means I can bypass TSA security also.

It’s always interesting to watch uniformed military personnel being searched at the TSA stations. It’s almost as if we’ve reached the point where common sense doesn’t apply.

I fly quite often and I'm still somewhat perplexed by the issue.. it just doesn't seem like a big deal to me. The groping of kids, grandfolks and nuns is ridiculous though. It shows how impotent Barack Obama is in actually doing his constitutional duty as president instead of trying to control more and more of our lives...

Nah.

I'm still alive.

And armed.

And not alone.

Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
I'm lazy.

We deserve this if we comply. We deserve it.

If you knew that this was a final test before totalitarianism was to be instituted in our country, and it depended whether or not you are willing to be physically degraded to do something you want to do, would you comply and fly? What if it is a final test?

Boycott flying now.
