Prince George's schools sued for discrimination (black on white, public school union alert)
The Washington Post ^ | 2010-11-23 | Michael Burnbaum

A group of current and former Prince George's County school employees has filed a lawsuit against the school system, alleging that a principal engaged in systematic discrimination against white teachers and the African American teachers and staffers who came to their defense.

The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in Greenbelt on Monday, alleges that Angelique Simpson Marcus, the principal of Largo High School, has targeted white teachers because of their race, and the African American teachers and employees who stood up for them, since she became principal in 2007. The lawsuit alleges a pattern of name-calling, derogatory language and attempts to transfer or fire employees who displeased her.

The lawsuit also names the Prince George's teachers union. The staff members allege that the union employee in charge of defending them against discrimination, Jimalatice Thomas-Gilbert, refused to give several of them the forms to file grievances. They also say she was attempting to recruit the principal to join a home-based direct-selling network that would have benefited Thomas-Gilbert financially.

Any whitey who teaches in PG County has got to be insane. They’d have a better survival rate in DC.

It’s high time these affirmative action hires get hauled into court for abusing their unmerited positions of power.

As ACORN continues to crumble and the Congressional Black Caucus' power diminishes as Rangel and Waters are seen to be corrupt (not to mention Allen West infiltrating their ranks) I expect to see more of these kinds of stories across the country.

The black community is about to undergo some major changes in the next few years IMO.

The black racists are feeling empowered with the election of obama. And obama and meechelle have played into every negative black stereotype out there.

To quote his majesty, barack hussein soetero obama, “Typical.”

Obviously both of them have long careers in Congress awaiting them.

We live in PG County and yes we are white. We had to put our 2 daughters in private school because the black children would tourture them. I sopke to the principal and she basically didnt care. I spoke to the bus lot and they didnt care this was going on either so my only option was to remove them from the situation and put them in private school. I must say they are getting a much better education now, but its not right that I still have to pay taxes to support these schools that my children cannot attend

Jessica,
My son is grown now but the same thing happened to him in elementary school. The black boys would call him racist names and push him around in the bathroom.

When I talked to the teacher she told me the black boy’s tale of woe, “druggie mother, raised by grandmother” etc.
I told her very sorry for his circumstances but MY son had the right to attend school without being bullied and called honky and other racist names.

I also told her he was NOT going to be their punching bag any longer and sometimes defending yourself looked like fighting. Said if he was sent to office for fighting while defending himself, she would be part of a court case for not protecting my son’s well being and his right to learn in a violence free setting.

But we left at the end of the year. And of course the behavior of those black students formed his opinion of blacks in general. The school system did those minority children no favors by ignoring and/or excusing bad behavior.

If you get a chance look on youtube at Wise HS fights or Largo HS fights. I would never subject my children to this and I cannot believe the schools are this poorly managed and the children are totally out of control. Its like the blind leading the blind

I think there is yet a significant contingent who admire the likes of Rangel and Waters for 'gettin' over on the man'. Until that long-fostered anti-white attitude is gone, there will be problems with corruption and racism, not to mention the usual marxist-nurtured hostility.

All of which provide ample excuses to not honestly achieve, perpetuating the problem.

The private school my children attend now is about 50/50 black and white. The difference is the children know that the school will not tolerate any form of discrimination. It has actually turned out to be a pretty good thing becuse my children have learned that not all black children have been raised by their parents to hate whites.

I’m sure Ben Jealous, the NAACP, and the SPLC are on top of this and working around the clock to fight this latest example of racism.

The only racism I’ve heard of in my kids’ public school is black-on-white, but it was punished. However, the kid’s mom was all up in arms, defended her kid to the end despite that several kids (black and white) saw him attack another kid for being white. Parents like that promote the bad behavior in their kids.

We have a decent principal and some good teachers. We’re lucky.

Affirmative action is a form of coercion.

Political correctness is a form of censorship.

I prefer to avoid both until someone can show me where in the US Constitution it says we have the right NOT to be offended.
