“...this could be done with a Constitutional Convention. IT IS TIME.”

HELL NO!!!

A constitutional convention CANNOT be constrained! I remind you that we got the constitution in the first place as a result of a convention that was convened SOLELY to tweak and improve The Articles of Confederation!!

With half of the country totally ignorant or openly hostile of the meaning/intent of our constitution, the last thing we want to do is give those crazies a chance to abolish it!!!

Yeah:

#1)
The Tenth Amendment already covers this.

#2) It may have unintended consequences

A) Being that it implicitly gives supremecy to the Federal government (reocognizes this authority becuase STATES have to overrule acts of the Federal Government),

B) That is stops the efforts of individual states from acting to nullify (or confront the Federal govenment) on their own (or in a group of states less than a majority); power which they already have under the 10th Amendment.

C)..i am sure there are others.

D) It is stupid!

Wouldn’t need the danged thing if we returned to the original constitution, where the state’s selected their Senators.

For then the state governments would have their ‘ambassadors’ to the Federal government.

But instead, we have the travesty of having two houses of the legislature acting as the ‘people’s house’, ie: House of Representatives.

And thus the Federal legislature would return to normal, with one House speaking for the people, and the other - the Senate - speaking for the states.

The Tenth amendment is ignored because there is no one in the Federal government that is beholden to the states.

Senators used to be beholden to the States, as they were selected by state government... and could be recalled by state government. So if there was any legislation that came up that would hurt state’s interests, they would have to vote against it.

Return the selection of Senators back to the states and you’ll definitely see much more interest in defending and enforcing the Tenth amendment.

Each new (legal and proper) attempt by the people to shrink the Federal monster will be met with more repression by bureaucratic agencies that make their own laws without congress.

I can't find a downside to this Amendment.

"America was created by and belongs to God."

I cannot and will never be convinced that men like Jefferson, Adams, Franklin, Madison and Washington were brought together in the same place and at the same time by pure chance.

I wouldn't have agreed with you before but the more I think about it, the more I tend to agree.

Everything now depends upon the attention and grasp of Constitutional principles as understood by the man or woman on the street. The People are now saddled with the complete responsibility of checking the Federal government.

Given that the Leftists control the educational system, it appears that even if such a system could work, it has little chance of success in the long term.
