Liberals resort to conspiracy theories to explain Obama's problems

Following two years of poor economic performance and electoral repudiation, liberalism is casting around for narratives to explain its failure - narratives that don't involve the admission of inadequacies in liberalism itself.

For some, the solution is to lay the blame on President Obama. He hasn't been liberal enough. He can't communicate. "I cannot recall a president," Robert Kuttner says in the Huffington Post, "who generated so much excitement as a candidate but who turned out to be such a political dud as a chief executive." Obama is "fast becoming more albatross than ally."

This is an ideological movement at its most cynical, attempting to throw overboard its once-revered leader to avoid the taint of his problems.

But there is an alternative narrative, developed by those who can't shake their reverence for Obama. If a president of this quality and insight has failed, it must be because his opponents are uniquely evil, coordinated and effective. The problem is not Obama but the ruthless conspiracy against him.

So Matt Yglesias warns the White House to be prepared for "deliberate economic sabotage" from the GOP - as though Chamber of Commerce SWAT teams, no doubt funded by foreigners, are preparing attacks on the electrical grid. Paul Krugman contends that "Republicans want the economy to stay weak as long as there's a Democrat in the White House." Steve Benen explains, "We're talking about a major political party . . . possibly undermining the strength of the country - on purpose, in public, without apology or shame - for no other reason than to give themselves a campaign advantage in 2012." Benen's posting was titled "None Dare Call it Sabotage."

Because RIDICULE is a VERY effective weapon against psuedointellectualism. WE can take it and laugh at them. They can’t. It makes them stammer and stutter and exposes them for what they are because inevitably, they cannot help themselves and will go for the overkill. They LOSE. That’s why. Liberals are notoriously humorless.

I think Obizzles strategy is great. The only rat that has a chance of beating him in 2012 is Hillary and she is tied up with obizzles mess. If she quits as sec state, it all gets dropped on her head. If she stays, she cannot mount an overt campaign against him.

Communists are great at chaos. It’s after they achieved it they cannot function because in the end it’s about personal power. Always has been, always will be.

Lol!

More like the economy will stay weak as long as the Regime and the Fed listen to Krugman!

The rumor is that Bernanke thinks he’s a genius, thus QE2.

“Ray Moley, FDR Braintrust, realized it would take the national guard to implement central planning.”

But who is to say that the present Regime wouldn’t actually try to use the military to take total control?

There are rotten apples in every barrel...the Obamanoids may already have identified the lowlife officers who would cooperate in such a scheme.

“Robin of Berkeley” (American Thinker) is a notable exception. A psychotherapist and ex-lib who lives in Berkeley and knows America’s enemy better than most. Her columns are always a treat and well worth the time to read!

‘He can’t communicate’

Supposedly this idiot was elected because of his ability to change public opinion and to be a great speechmaker and communicator. If he can’t communicate that leaves no reason to support him whatsoever.

We use them because Zer0 deserves zero respect.

He is beneath contempt and forfeits any decorum from posters like me.

I am an old man but extremely juvenile where he is concerned.

“Moonbat” doesn’t seem to hurt much in Collie-fornia.

Jerry Brown got elected governor again.

More likely they’ll go the “rent-a-mob” route.

They’re more controllable and predicatable and rumor has it that they work cheap.

Indeed.

I post her stuff every chance I get.

She is also a FReeper.

Of course, Robin frequently writes about her experiences as a convert to conservatism living in the belly of the beast while married to an unreconstructed lib.

LIBs....Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! At some core level they realize both they and their ideas are worthless. That leaves them very angry all the time. It is difficult to accept both one’s self worthlessness and one’s existential worthlessness. Bwahahahahahahaha!

Aye. Box lunches and free bus rides last I heard...as evidenced by the litter that was left on the Washington Mall after the Colbert idiorama.

The basic economic conspiracy theory on the left is that the Republicans want the economy to fail and are taking steps to guarantee that failure.

That theory can only have credence because our side failed to correctly show the history and causes of the economic meltdown of 2008.

George Bush and his Boy Genius Karl Rove consistently allowed the rats to decimate the financial system by lowering lending standards at fannie and freddie. This began long before Bush took office but it accelerated during his term and though he initially spoke out against it, he soon dropped his opposition to it... and dropped all mention of it.

For Bush/Cheney I think the motivation was, “fight no battles except in Iraq”. They were so obsessed with the war in Iraq that they let the rats wreck the financial system and allowed a horde of alien invaders to march north into our country.

As for Rove... he’s one of the 20% (the percentage of mentally ill in the US) and is nothing but a sick, self-serving POS who somehow got the label “genius” affixed to his moronic retarded a$$.
