Muslim fears of backlash are greatly exaggerated and designed to strike a PC cord, and it will work if the mush-brained media plays along. Every bleeding heart in the country will bleed for the poor, misunderstood Muslims. Muslims enjoy a level of PC sympathy rivaled only by abortion doctors.

This wouldn't be the first such "friendly fire" (heh) incident. Remember the whitey who slashed the throat of a muslim cab driver in New York? The narrative was that the whitey was opposed to the 9/11 Victory Mosque and decided to take his rage out on the cab driver... except that the whitey himself was found to be in the same camp as the proponents of the mosque.

The would be bomber was a 19 year old Somali Muslim. My question is-Why did the US not close immigration from Somalia after the way our troops were treated in that country? They obviously hated Americans. They are Muslms with many having a fanatical bent. It has been insanity to accept so many in as immigrants from Muslim countries after 9-11.

we’d all like to know exactly who is it who decides these people should be turned loose on American citizens.

That's a good question. The 1990 census counted 2,070 American residents born in Somalia. Most of these people were highly skilled who had the financial means to get out of Somalia. By 2000, that number would increase to over 35,000 Somalis residing here --almost all refugees. I don't know what the 2010 census will tell us but here are some recent years and the numbers of Somalis who were admitted as refugees into the United States:

2009: 4,189 Somali immigrants
2008: 2,523
2007: 6,969
2006: 10,357
2005: 10,405
2004: 13,331

Who brought them here and why? Well, do-gooder churches had a lot to do with setting up the machinations to get them over here and established in cities across America where they were promptly enrolled in various welfare programs. And it appears politicians from neither party did much to stop it.
