Adios, storm season
HOUSTON CHRONICLE ^ | 29 November 2010

We count our blessings for a hurricane-free 2010

The turkey leftovers may be only a fond memory, but we're not done with Thanksgiving yet. Today marks the official end of the 2010 hurricane season, and that is cause for thanksgiving aplenty. The season just ending was unusually active, one of the three most active in recent years, the statisticians tell us, but the continental United States was spared. According to storm researcher Adam Lea of the University College London, 2010 was the first season since 1900 with 10 or more hurricanes in which none struck the United States.

Why don’t the weather forecasters quit since they are almost always wrong in their dire predictions. Have they no integrity? Quit and admit your “science” is based on throwing darts at a map and guessing.

Al Gore is so smart that he can predict the weather 20 years from now...it will be warmer! Just put Al at a desk and fire everyone else. Think of the savings!

(tol, for old times’s sake, can you post yourself in rollers again? lol in advance)

Texans South of Dallas got real lucky this year with tropical depressions and storms.... they’ve been mostly our only rainfall. If not for those storms, you’d be hearing stories of cattle slaughters due to no hay. Even so, our plants aren’t looking too perky because no nitrogen-bearing thunderstorms have happened in about 8 months.
