Swedish TV4 broadcast a documentary detailing how Walter Sommerlath, a German Nazi Party member, had bought the factory from Efim Wechsler, a Jew.
The transaction was part of the so-called "Ayranisation" of such enterprises according to the Nuremberg Laws which stripped Jews of their rights and property. The factory allegedly made Ack Ack guns for the Luftwaffe and also parts for tanks.
When she married in 1976 the Queen's German father denied he had ever been a member of the Nazi party. That fiction was exposed some years later by a Swedish newspaper which proved he joined the movement in 1934.

This isn’t news. As for the Swedish Royals, the Crown Pricess just married her gym coach. Pomp rots the mind.

I think you mean the Germans were allowed to pass through to get to their Finn Allies to attack the Soviets?
Nazis.... the gift that keeps on giving.
lest we forget that what does Volkswagen mean? It means "People's Car" all the little people would drive it on the Autobahn while the Party members would be pimp'n the Mercedes!
Sean McMeekin book - History's Greatest Heist: The Looting of Russia by the Bolsheviks, goes into great detail.
You have to recall that Scandinavia had been, in general, heavily involved in the War Before The War (part of which was conducted by Joe Stalin against Finland). The Finns lost a chunk of country, and they also had to turn on the "visiting" Germans and kill a bunch of them to get them to leave (as part of the deal). They fled North to Norway.
One of our history minded Freepers has been running a series on how WWII developed ~ he brings in old NYT, et al, headline stories. Been lot of interesting stuff there.
Back when the Finns were facing down the Russians you had the some interesting support situations with the Brits and other Western Europeans providing weapons and money to the Finns, right along with the Nazis.
Makes for some strange reading ~ well worth doing ~ doesn't make the Scandinavians moral paragons but you know what, you had some small countries dealing as best they could with some very large countries ~ that they survived is amazing.
Ya' gotta' study this to keep up with it.
How did the Swedes make money off the Bolsheviks? ‘splain.
“BTW, Volvos are made by Ford. Real Americans drive Fords and Volvos these days.”
Ford sold Volvo to Chinese interests, sadly.
At least Saab remains in European ownership hands, for what that is worth. They will still have a very tough go, with models always growing aged.
You’re just sore because the Germans blocked the planned British invasion of Sweden through Narvik.
Dont remind me...

Actually, in the first war, the Germans embargoed Italian planes being shipped to the Finns. At one point, the British and Italians were on one side, the Germans and Soviets on the other.
There are Europeans who understand completely the value of the American postwar occupation and the imposition of NATO.
Being a neutral means never having to say you are sorry. Switzerland did much the same. When you are a neutral and have an overwhelmingly strong neighbor, its nice to be nice. The USA made the same Borfors anti aircraft guns under a license from Sweden. We paid the fees all during the war.
