I completely disagree, particularly as regards hiring requirements for employees of a Christian college or university. If the place of employment is set up to promote certain standards, then the employees hired should be required to promulgate those standards in their personal and professional lives.
If the coach and her lesbian lover wish to pursue their alternative lifestyle, then let them do it elsewhere.
The feelings of the students should not be given credence. They are students and are there to learn, not give their views on what should be and should not be done. If they viscerally disagree with the situation, they can vote with their feet and leave — that said, I would bet that their parents, who are paying, wish them to get a Christian education and will make them stay. If the university sticks to Christian, conservative principles, it may in fact be that their liberal opinons now vis-a-vis homosexuality will change.
I should have been more specific
I separate the person from the lifestyle
The school has a need to have staff live a lifestyle consistent w their moral teachings
