Reagan birth centennial stamp debuts

Thanks for the heads-up. My dear old mother needs some more stamps
(believes in actually writing letters...very old school).
Having them as “forever” stamps probably will clear them out in no time.
So I’ll be at the post office as early as possible. Gotta’ get some for
my brother as well.

I was shocked that the local PBS station (Sedalia/Warrensburg) aired the rather fair
“American Experience” biography on “The Lifeguard” RR on Monday.
When I saw it on first airing in Los Angeles, I was stunned at
how good...and balanced it was.

As for the stamp I’d have preferred RR with a cowboy hat or aboard a horse.
That would cause severe mental distress to Dems/Libs. (chuckle)

...the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, Calif.,....

Anyone that makes it to Southern California MUST visit the RR Presidential Library.
Beautiful landscape. It was great when I visited but now has a lot
of upgrades, including the installation of Dutch’s Air Force One.

BUT...do pay attention to the signs that say (in so many words)
“Stay off the grass. There are rattlesnakes.”
I and my cousin chuckled at one of the most effective public warning
signs in history.

My MIL lives with us and is quite elderly. She has pen pals all over the country and spends I don’t know how much on stamps.

I told her about the new Ronald Reagan stamp and she’s thrilled to death, keeps asking about it.

I’ve never been to the RR Presidential Library, it’s a long haul for us now. I was born and raised in So CA and am very familiar with Simi Valley and the whole area.

Believe me when I say there are plenty of rattlesnakes in that country but don’t know if they actually get close to the installation.

When playing golf on many of the courses there we were always very careful, especially if going into the rough after a ball which I did often. LOL!

Quite cold here. Possibly more frost tomorrow, if there’s any moisture left in the air. No snow forecast, but rain this weekend.

Mammals are hanging around me complaining that they’re not being given pizza.

LOL, that was in one of our early Gaelic lessons! 'Se piotsa a tha i aig iarraidh! (It's pizza she's wanting, turning up her nose at 'neeps & 'tatties.)

Good Morning, fanfan!

I'll be turning up my nose at 'neeps and tatties too, for the familiar oats. I have, after all, a plow to pull.

I think I’ll have fruit. We have a tiny bit of snow on grass and roofs, but the temperature is nearly above freezing already. I’ll have to check the website to make sure they’re having Vlad’s swimming lesson this morning.

I was so tired yesterday I was asleep at 3:30. My phone rang at 4:30, so that kept me awake for a while, but I’m up and on it this morning.

And very tired. I still have things to clean before my son gets here next week, but I’m not going to push it.

Breakfast? Hmmmm. Maybe I’ll see about that.

Your deep freeze is chilling me to the bones! I hate when that happens!

It would be nice if you had some spring.

I stayed up until nearly 10, reading the book about Cuba and occasionally paying attention to the show DP was watching.

Now I need to find Tom and have him take Ash for a walk. She’s been out in the yard, but it wasn’t what she wanted. Shannon just reached up and patted my shoulder, with a few claws. She wants the warm weather turned on!

If I have a really good book, and I’m feeling fairly decent, I can stay up until 10, but for the most part, I’m doing good if I can last until 7.

I’m with Shannon! I want the warm weather turned on!!

LOL!

Thanks! Catnip seems to alter one’s perspective. Or ability. Or perspective of one’s ability...

(Ow. That hurt. I’m not used to thinking so early in the AM.)

White Cat was sitting on the outside of the schoolroom window this morning, asking to come in. Jake had a Snit. Wednesday would have had a psychotic freakout and broken the window; she really hated other cats, except for Shannon.

White Cat is probably tired of the snow and cold, and senses warm people, good food and some really neat hiding places behind the window pane.

Wednesday was a sweetie. Odd, but sweet.
