"The Constitution neither grants Congress nor the President the power to compel every American to buy government-approved health insurance." How about Social Security?

Social Security is really a payroll tax and not a retirement plan. You’re not guaranteed to draw anything from it. The rules can be changed at any time by a Congress.

Legally speaking, FDR and Truman defended Social Security as a TAX.
A bit different than forcing people to buy a product.

SS is just a feel-good name applied to a tax.
Semantics.
The government could, at it’s sole discretion, terminate all SS recipients checks and keep the tax, and it would not be unconstitutional................although it would be suicidal...............

Social Security is a tax. Not a premium, nor a fine, which Obamacare is.
