Hosted by imgur.com Thanks spankalib, I will check the book out.

ken5050, these players make more in one year then 90% if Americans will make in a friggin lifetime. I don't want to here about a multimillionaire complaining about a possible injury due to playing a sport he chose to play in the cold. That's like school teachers going on strike as they complain about low pay, when they knew what they were getting into when they decided to be a teacher as their profession. No one twisted their arms and forced them to be football players. Suck it up America and quit complaining that you might have a bad day before the day even starts.

Back to spankalib, I Grew up in Duluth, but left at 16 to join the Thomas Shows, a Carnival, and then when I turned 17 I enlisted in the Army. That was 1973, and I have been back three times since, but not permanently. Now I live in Chico Ca, thus my name with Star Tribune chicovike.

That being said, I have bled purple since I was old enough to understand that football was a great winter sport. in the early "80"s when they built the HHH Doom, I saw the future, and the future was bleak.

I was right, now that it's the past it has been dreary watching the Vikings laughingly attempt to look like the fearsome Norsemen of old. I will be watching the game on Monday with joy.

It normally never gets cold here, but last night it got down to 27 degrees, I pray top the lord above to make Monday night as cold as it was last night. Then I will have my wood stove on, but the flu pushed in so keep it cold, and all the windows open so I can enjoy the last time the Vikings will ever play outdoors again in Minnesota.

Fact is, I expect them to be the LA Vikings by 2013, if not sooner. That would be because there is no way the people who voted for Al Franken will ever approve of building a new stadium with tax payers money. Americans have no understanding of economics or what generates real money anymore. Then they will probably win a Super Bowls, but they won't be true Vikings, like the Lakers are not true Lakers, or the Stars are not True Stars.

Besides, LA is already building a stadium right now with the understanding that they will get the Vikings to play there. beethovenfan Ziggy could care less too, because he is a New Yorker with no loyalty to Minnesota.

The people of Minnesota will get what they deserve, just as the Californians will get what they deserve when Brown moves into the Governors mansion. Life really does suck in America today, even the sports that were supposed to be a distraction. God take me home.

Rebelbase; ridesthemiles, yes Sarah is a fresh breath of air, but I do agree that their are a few good men who look as though they could step up and remind us what real men in politics are like. For now, Sarah is the one and i doubt she would be complaining about playing outside. These current players remind me of the complainer Kate of eight that could not even make it one whole day camping in Alaska.

but they won't be true Vikings, like the Lakers are not true Lakers

Like the Dodgers aren't the true Dodgers; the (baseball) Giants aren't the true Giants; Rams aren't the true Rams; the Colts aren't the true Colts; the Jazz aren't the true Jazz; the (football) Cardinals aren't the true Cardinals; the A's aren't the true A's; the Braves aren't the true Braves...

...for starters.

To some extent I hear you. On the flip side, I just have a hard time spending boatloads of taxpayer money to build a stadium for a franchise that has never won a super bowl and has always ultimately turned out to be a major disappointment.

As far as I’m concerned CA can have them. Go ahead and call me short-sighted, but I really don’t see the economy doing better with them here and MN going deeper into the red vs. without them here and not generating whatever revenue they supposedly did. I haven’t been to a stadium to watch anything in so long I can’t remember it. It’s just too damned expensive! A cheap night out for two to go to a sporting event, concert/show is easily 150 - 200 bucks all things considered. That is, unless you buy the worst seats possible and take the bus there and back, then it’s still easily 100 bucks without anything besides tickets.

Too much money for too little return in most cases and that’s exempting the hassle of it all.
