WASHINGTON -- In a landmark vote, the Senate on Saturday ended the Clinton-era ban on gays serving openly in the military, marking a major triumph for President Obama, liberals and the gay community.

The final vote to end the Pentagon's 1993 "don't ask, don't tell" policy was 65-31, drawing support from eight Republicans.

The bill now goes to the White House for Obama's signature. He is expected to sign the bill into law next week, a senior White House aide told Fox News.

Well let’s go back to the 60’s and make it a dischargable offense?

Merry Christmas

When I joined back in 1969 it was “Join the Navy and ride the Waves”. Now it’s “Join the Navy and ride whoever the hell will let you on”.

You’re dang right they can.

We’re all sittin’ here, moaning and groaning about this, instead of getting off our duffs to do something.

We outnumber the homos by a large, large majority. The Senate is scared of them because they are organized. Why don’t we organize, for God’s sake?!

You know why we’re always looking over our shoulder? Because we always let them put us on the defensive. If i think someone behind me is thinking about stabbing me in the back, I turn around, call them out and engage them until I win or they kill me. Standing there hoping they decide just to wound me or not stab me sure as hell doesn’t do any good.

My view is that this will have little effect on combat arms units. I just don't think homosexuals are beating down the recruiters doors looking for CIB's and those that are are there for reasons that will override their prurient interests.

In all other branches and units the laws of unintended consequences will rear their ugly little heads.

Let me clarify my comment, instances of homosexuals claiming harassment will be highlighted (to say the least).

Heterosexuals being harassed will be another (hushed up) story.

I wonder if that means it might go back to what it was before DADT, homosexuals were actively searched out and discharged.

I'll take "Probably Not" for $500, Alex.

As I said on another thread when the draft was in effect back in the 60’s lots of gays admitted they were gay (and some admitted it who were not gay) to get out of the draft. That won’t work today.

But I guarantee you that if the draft is reinstated you’ll see gay people screaming to high heaven and claim exemption because they’re gay.

I wonder if America needs a Pinochet to straighten things out?

DADT repeal is horrible and a way to undo it needs to be found, but you really want a military coup in America? Really? Is that your solution? Then who takes over, whichever general bribes the most troops? Go read up on the Praetorian Guard. How long does he stay in power, until another general knocks him off? Just wow. That's not the conservatism I believe in (neither is DADT repeal, for that matter, but at least it was duly passed by an elected legislature). Win the next election and we can fix this.

Cocksuckers, the lot of them.

And we as a country are going to take it in the a$$ because of it!

Everything that has made us great is being torn down and rebuilt.

The military is the last bastion left.

We are done now.

Memories are the best possession left now.

Tomorrow we will be asking the U.N. for salvation.

So you people of Alaska, how do you like you F'n RINO BEATCH (Mur-Cow-skee) now?

Voted yes to repeal DADT as well as yes for backdoor Shamnesty (aka DREAM ACT).

"Hey Scott, hope your enjoying your (abreviated and short-lived) ONE TERM as a US Senator.

"Maybe in 2012, you can get all the Fags, Socialist, Progressives, et al, in Taxachussetts to contribute to your campaign, cuz none of us who helped you out last year will be sending a plug nickel!" (copy of email I sent this RINO Bas-turd!)

Guess that WUSS McConnell, could not excert any pressure on the RINO's to oppose this, if he even tried.

"We outnumber the homos by a large, large majority"

Yeah; right.

We outnumber the blacks by a large majority, and the Hispanics (so far) by a large majority, too, and look who gets Reparations and special treatment (Affirmative Action, non-binding/enforced laws).

Even Foreigners who can manage to sneak in can drop a baby, and that Foreigner's baby is AUTOMATICALLY an American Citizen, with all the rights my buddies fought and died for.....

The repeal of DADT is a mean to an end, not the end. The military has always been used by the left as an engine of social change, ie. racial integration, women’s rights etc. This is not about getting gays into the military, its about gaining acceptance for gays out of the military.

Can there be any remaining doubt that dems (and their RINO enablers) are enemies of our Republic? I think not.

“Our fighting men (and women) can handle this.”

Maybe so, but its impact on discipline, cohesion, morale and effectiveness will certainly be negative. Our warfighting capabilities will be needlessly diminished and that poses an unacceptible risk to our national security in this exceedingly dangerous era in which we live. The Senate has completely lost touch with reality.

then we work to get rid of these traitors who voted for this and we tell the GOP no more appeasing, speaking out against hem and that goes for the talk show hosts and the TV hosts like Hannity.
No more cowards preaching on about the budget all the time like a broken record.

Get this overturned and if the media which they will defend this bill then give them a call too.

Everyone needs to call not their local reps but also the RINOS who voted for this.
Do not let up and call a few times different times of the day and get others in your family , neighbors to do the same.
