London, Dec 24 (IANS) A member of the elite al-Quds force of Irans Revolutionary Guard, wanted for his involvement in smuggling of arms, was captured by NATO troops in Afghanistan. The man was detained last Saturday in Zehri district of southern Kandahar province, which is known as the birthplace of the Taliban movement, the BBC reported.
The man was a key Taliban weapons facilitator involved in smuggling arms from Iran to Afghanistan, NATO was quoted as having said in a statement.
The man was detained for facilitating the movement of weapons between Iran and Kandahar through (southern) Nimruz province, a spokesman for the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) said.
The now-detained man was considered a Kandahar-based weapons facilitator with direct ties to other Taliban leaders in the province, the ISAF statement said.
A senior Afghan security official in Kandahar said coalition forces had been monitoring the man for some time.
Iranian intelligence officers are helping the Taliban and drug dealers in the south. We deal with it every day. This is a known fact now, the official told BBC. It was the international forces who arrested him. They had been listening to him for some time and monitoring his electronic communications.

Sounds like a good candidate for water boarding,
Water boarding hell. Why is this a-hole still breathing?
No problem.
0bambi will set him free as a peace offering to Iran. They, of course, will accept the peace offering, but *NOT* the peace.
“WE” know it.....polidiots and presstitutes choose to ignore it.
Vote with your dollars between elections.
Merry Christmas and Stay Safe !
Has Obama had a chance to apologise to him for pour capturing him yet?
A quick apology and he is back in business.
I wish the man was “unarmed”, if you know what I mean...

Grrrrrrr!
The earlier article on this also had 'elite' al-Quds force but those 'NATO troops' were ID'd as US (Army) SPECIAL FORCES.
But it's funny (NOT) how now in this the camel jockey remains as 'elite' but US Army Green Berets who are ELITE, get demoted to 'NATO troops'.
Consider that the MSM also considers themselves and their liberal colleagues as "elite".
Thus, putting themselves in the same circle as the Revolutionary Guard.
Frankly, I'd agree with that assessment.
"Elite", it seems, has gained a totally new meaning -- it now refers to ignorant camel jockey, as well as ignorant journalist.
