Tea Party Group Reveals Republican Targets For 2012 (RINOs Lugar, Corker, Hatch, Snowe, Brown)

(RTTNews) - A prominent Tea Party group sent a message to members on Monday identifying five current Republican Senators that they intend to target in 2012.

Tea Party Nation named Sens. Dick Lugar, R-Ind., Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, Olympia Snowe, R-Maine, Scott Brown, R-Mass., and Bob Corker, R-Tenn., as Republicans that need to be sent into retirement, accusing them of being Republicans In Name Only, or RINOs.

The message cited Lugar's vote against a ban on earmarks as well as a his votes in favor of the DREAM Act and the START Treaty. Hatch was also criticized for being a "pork king" and a co-sponsor of the DREAM Act, which would have provided a path to citizenship for certain young illegal immigrants.

Tea Party Nation blasted Snowe for her votes in favor of the health care reform bill, the START Treaty, and the repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," while the group called Brown " the biggest disappointment of the last year."

Judson Phillips, the founder of Tea Party Nation, said Corker is the group's top target, because he "has done many things to sell out the conservative Tennesseans who put him in office."

"The good news for 2012 is that so many liberals are up for reelection, Republicans are guaranteed control of the Senate and we do not have to pinch our noses this time and support a RINO to prevent liberal control of the Senate," Phillips said.

He added, "2012 will be a very good year for the Tea Party movement and RINO is on the menu!"

Tea Party members had success in a number of Republican Senate primaries in 2010, including in Utah, Florida, Nevada, and Delaware, although their results in the general election were more mixed.

I agree with that list, especially since Lugar is on it. As a resident of Indiana I'm tired of seeing that tired old liberal horse getting re-elected every six years. He's never been a friend of Indiana and I hope that fellow Hoosiers wake up and vote him out of office.

I wonder if Mike Pence or Mitch Daniels will make a run at his seat?

Cochran is not seeking re-election.

Those Maine twins need to be at the top of the list. They are low down dirty dogs.

Brown in ma is ok, the main targets should be red state rinos. Lugar is number 1 target.

Red state RINOs and Democrats would be my first priority.

Defeat Democrats Tester, Nelson(Neb.), McCaskill, Conrad, Webb. Manchin and Kohl in the general election.

Defeat Lugar, Snowe, Corker, Hatch in the Republican primaries. Brown is TBD.

Why should a good conservative Catholic from the Bay state vote for Brown

Those conservative Catholics voted for Kennedys for longer than I've been alive.

Brown's win was a fluke. That state is a liberal hellhole and not winnable for anyone more conservative than Brown.

Lugar and Hatch are valid targets. Maine and Massachusetts, not a chance, those states will be RINO or Dem for decades to come.

“He was voted back in.”

By running to the right of his opponent.

Now that he’s secure for another 6 years it’s “Flank Speed! Left Full Rudder!”

It’s a good start, but IMO if they’ve been there for more than 2 terms they need to go.

And then be permanently be banned from lobbying, or holding any other public office for life.

Oh and no more taxpayer funded bennies either after leaving office.

It’s good to have goals . . . but 2012 is a long way away.

The political stupidity of the right never fails to amaze me.

Conservatives seem to simply lack the ability to think strategically and practice smart politics. Libs are wrong on the issues, but smart in the trenches, and they’re laughing at this.

Who in their right mind thinks that wasting resources trying to target a moderate in Massachusetts is going to gain anything but another liberal Democrat in Congress?

It’s far better to have someone who will vote reliably with you some of the time than to back a Massachusetts conservative who is unelectable but who will put a Dem liberal in Brown’s seat.

Tilting at windmills, too proud to accept a glass half-full, eating our own. Stupid.

A MS Freeper said Cochran wasn’t running next time. I don’t have first hand knowledge....Corker, I will do all I can to see that he is not elected. What a disappointment he and Alexander have both been! I only quietly admit to being from TN :(.

Oh...excuse me! And you would be so freaking smart as to tell the residents to just suck it up and take it?
Scott Brown needs to get some b*lls, he is a pathetic wimp.
Our lives will be no different with a lib... as they have not been for 100 years

I would rather the idiot Rediculuns “get the Message” than worry about my dweeb fairy Senator staying in his seat.

Scotty IS Teddy K. without the fat.

He is worthless, as is the state which the Universe knows so what are you...
hopey changey? eff that.

Screw Scott Brown.. period!

You forget that we are the stupid party for a reason. There are far left radical liberals in deep conservative states and real RINO’s in other conservative states. But lets attack a RINO in the most liberal state the union has ever seen.
Oh well lets hope the courts undo Barry Husein’s agenda because the American voter, both left, center and right will never ‘get it’
