CNN correspondent Jessica Yellin says President Obama will have to address political rhetoric tomorrow during his address in Arizona.
I think it would be a colossal mistake for him to do so. There is not one whit of evidence showing that Loughner was familiar with reality, much less with "political rhetoric". If Obama addresses "vitriol in our public discourse" or some such nonsense, he will be directly tying it to Loughner's actions. He will firmly place himself in the same opportunist gutter along with the likes of Krugman, Clyburn, Leahy and Sheriff Dupa.

It’s going to be really tough for him to resist. You know he’s dying to score political points off of this. The thing is, most people recognize this for what it is: an unavoidable tragedy. If Obama lectures the Right about our political speech, he’ll probably lose points, not gain points.

Actually, if he does that, he will be declaring Loughner NOT guilty by reason of insanity. Is that really what the left wants??? This kid roaming the streets???
