"Just Kill Him" Controversial Video of Police Shooting Family Dog
KTLA ^ | January 4, 2011 | Fox News Online

DES MOINES, WA -- In November police officers tased, then shot and killed a 120-pound Newfoundland named Rosie.

The shooting sparked both a community vigil for the dog and an independent review of the officers' actions.

Although initiall reports were that the dog was acting aggressively when she escaped from her fenced yard and was spotted roaming neighborhood streets, video taken from the patrol car dash-cams may cast the shooting in a different light.

Warning: Videos contain graphic sounds and language.

The videos, released by Des Moines Police show the dog being tazed by an officer, then running away. In another video you hear an officer fire his gun, presumably hitting the dog, then another officer saying "Nice".

You contradict your own sadistic assertion.

First in a previous post, you say your “buddy” Trevor says that any dog is fair game, just because “it has its nose to the ground and ass in the air”, that’s “all the evidence” he needs to shoot it.

Now you want to parse and say that the evidence is “running and tracking prey”.

Pathetic. Sadistic.

You and your “buddy” Trevor are meant for each other.

Excuse me?

My dog is a valued family member. I have an absolute right to defend ALL family members with deadly force if necessary.

You are just proving yourself to need both a heart and brain transplant with every post.

Better yet, I want Dennis to talk with Trevor who claims that “any dog with its nose on the ground and ass in the air” is fair game.

Contradicting their previous assertion that the dog “must be tracking” prey.

Every dog smells its way around. Justifying the killing of a dog simply because it’s using a natural instinct and not necessarily “tracking” is sadistic.

In Atlanta last month some imbecile with a badge shot a Golden in its front yard close to the porch because it barked at him and didn’t follow the ossifer’s ‘orders’ to ‘stop’.

All the contingent of JBT boot-lickers that infest FR came out from under their rocks in support of that fine upstanding member of law enforcement, too.

I would never live where you do.

Game wardens are useless, too.

If that’s how they act in Georgia....and obviously they do according to what happened in Atlanta last month....

...all I can say is where’s Gen. Sherman when you need him?

Let me get this straight, you are on freerepubkic threatening to kill people, how long do you think you are going to do that. Do you also have a skull and shrine in your back yard?

That’s not conservative culture.

That’s statism.

Conservatives want as little government and officialdom as possible.

Anyone who shoots my dog had better make sure his affairs are in order.

Read the story of Rigel, a Newfie who saved several people struggling in the water as the “Titanic” sank.

Enforcement of law so we can have public order?

You’re just a JBT-loving statist, you’re no conservative.

Did I threaten to kill anyone? No I didn’t.

I stated I will use any force necessary to defend a family member. That includes my dog, Tojo. I do not care where or from whom that threat to my family member comes from.

I excuse your lack of reading comprehension and understanding the nuances of the English language.

Yikes, no offense but it sounds like you live in an awful place. I used to have a whippet and that SOB would manage to jump or dig under the fence every now and then.

Most of the time the neighbors would just grab him or chase him back into our yard (which we also did to their dogs if the situation arose, even with one of their dogs who wasn’t that friendly). A couple times animal control picked them up, and we did have to pay a fine. Thankfully animal control just didn’t shoot on sight.

I would say maybe I lived in simpler times, but this was just in the late 90s in suburban Colorado.

"Better yet, I want Dennis to talk with Trevor who claims that 'any dog with its nose on the ground and ass in the air' is fair game."

When talking with Dennis, he said that just seeing a dog running on a deer trail would not be considered a capital crime, and that the regs are followed strictly; i.e. the pursued animal must be perceived as being in mortal danger of being taken down. Even a dog chasing a deer out of a garden is not considered serious...it's one reason people have dogs.

But you can bet the farm that Trevor will not be calling Dennis, nor any other warden. When I was growing up in MI, deer chasing dogs WERE shot on sight. Deer were kinda scarce back then (the 50's), couldn't even shoot does. Times have changed, deer pops have exploded (I shoot between 10 and 30 a year) to crop predator status. When I moved to FL 20 years ago, I went deer hunting with neighbors, using dogs to drive deer. I didn't care for it, but learned much...the deer are never caught by the dogs, and it has little impact on the population. The hobby is slowly dying out around here (N FL), I assume because the cost of keeping good dogs in good kennels is soaring.

Trevor either has an antidog mindset or an outdated mind. Whichever it is, his attitude has been rejected on this thread, life is good.

Damn, I miss my Newfs.

I have seen several dogs belonging to neighbors shot under exactly those circumstances. And they all whined just like several of you on this thread are whining. What a laugh.

Yeah, that's just hilarious!
