Some Ariz. Repub. party officials resign after Tucson shooting (McCainiac attacks Tea Party)
The Washington Post ^ | 2011-01-12 | Emi Kolawole

(snip)

A conflict that has been going on between local Arizona Republicans came to an end in the wake of the shooting in Tucson on Saturday when Arizona's Republican District 20 Chairman Anthony Miller and several others chose to resign.

The Arizona Republic reports that Miller, 43, a former campaign worker for Sen. John McCain who was re-elected to a second one-year term last month, has been concerned for his family's safety by constant verbal attacks and blog posts from some local committee members with tea party movement ties.

(snip)

Miller, the first and only African-American to hold the party's precinct chairmanship, said he had been called "McCain's boy," and that, during a speech, a member of the audience made the symbol of a gun with his hand and pointed it at him. "I wasn't going to resign but decided to quit after what happened Saturday," Miller said. "I love the Republican Party but I don't want to take a bullet for anyone."

I was just watching Boehner start crying again,

That crying thing was understandable as a one off - or maybe even twice but it's getting ridiculous now.

If he cannot control himself, maybe he needs to step down.

"I don't want to take a bullet for anyone."

I've heard those on the left express that narcissistic sentiment but that's not typical of those on the right. Is this guy a double agent?

To not stand up for what you believe is a slow death for the soul of this country.

Spineless cowards.

I am overjoyed when RINOs resign. Put tea party people in to replace them.

This sounds like a fabricated, staged event to counter the real death threats against conservatives by liberals.

How do we know this is true? Because he says so? Has he reported these threats to authorities? I've noticed several conservatives in my circles complaining because their accounts were recently HACKED! If any of what this man is saying is true...there should be arrests if they are on the scale this man is purporting them to be.

Otherwise he is complaining about folks who may have disagreed with him on a number of stances ...after electing him? And he is now slandering them in the press?

Something about this story doesn't make sense and appears untruthful.

I’m convinved that McCain’s RINOism, “reaching across the aisle” (and always getting pwned) and his abject failure as a wussified presidential candidate along with his pollyanna pontifivating as a party leader contributed a lot of the impetus behind the Tea Party movement. In other words, it’s not just obastard, pelousy, Dingy and their absurd spending-on-steroids that motivated the formation of the Tea Party. McCain’s epic failure as a candidate was a meaningful factor.

It only makes sense that, in consideration of McCain’s candy-assed presidential candidacy followed by his spate of lies and assaults on conservatives in his senate re-election bid, there would be animosity demonstrated against him and the AZ pub party.

I don’t know who this Miller guy is, but since McCain and his type of senator are such a big part of the problem, he coud probably be successful in another state. All he needs to do is move down the interstate to TX and he’d be fine.

I was just watching Boehner start crying again

This crying is turning into a real problem. He needs to get some help. The first time I could understand. Emotions are good. But now its turning into a joke.

I’d never known about Boehner’s penchant for tears until the night of the election. Up ‘til then, he always came across as a formidible guy. Since then, I’ve read stories about his tearing up when being queried about his tan. He may have an undiagnosed chemical imbalance at work that can intensify emotions.

In the words of the soon to be mayor of Chicago:

“You don’t ever want a crisis to go to waste; it’s an opportunity to do important things that you would otherwise avoid.” ~ Rahm Emmanuel

The Dem hit machine sees this as an opportunity to portray Obama as a “uniter” while they simultaneously try to tear the country apart by slandering conservatives and talk radio. It doesn’t matter that the punk was a deranged budding leftist. It’s a crisis so it needs to be exploited and damn the truth or consequences.
