That's another one of your lies Drango......Most of the anti-smoking laws across this country were passed by legislators without consent of the citizens, including my state of Michigan.
The few laws that were passed via local voting laws were based on a majority of the voters who voted. The sad fact about that statistic is that only approximately 47 percent of the registered voters in those communities voted and most of the decisions in favor of the bans accumulated only about 54 percent of the vote.
Why is this significant? Because the bans that were passed by the voters only represented approx. 27 percent of the citizens in those respective communities.
In other words, 73 percent of the individuals in those communities had no problem with smokers but the minority were able to get their way simply because they voted. That's what's called "Tyranny by the minority".........
It’s even worse now in some areas. The Health Departments
have been given the right to ban smoking anywhere they want. They make a show of getting public input before they do it but it’ just a sham.
