..please allow FR to be a forum where we can openly discuss both sides of an issue...Sometimes it’s good to ask, honestly, what the conservative position is.

I laughed when I read that but thanks for taking it on! You want to learn why the homo agenda is anti-conservative, why it's destructive? Do a key word search and study up. It's that simple. Imagine someone not knowing the conservative position? What about their personal opinion? IMO, it reads as an agenda.

We are, believe it or not, on the same side, and this discussion is exactly what I love about Free Republic. We need to talk about these things, not what is right and wrong, but about government’s role and how to fight the battle.

A few replies to your numbered points:

1) You contradict yourself. You say that “it is those pushing the homo agenda who have been using government,” yet you claim to be a conservative, and you’re wanting the government involved. Inconsistent, and it won’t work. Just gives them a platform for their sob stories and to get public sympathy.

4) Their agenda has been pushed by some libs in the government, but much more by the entertainment industry, which has glamorized and normalized perversity through depiction in TV and movies. Now it’s mainstream. Now society depicts you as a bigot if you speak out against homosexuality, which is still perversion.

And I never said, nor implied, that conservatives should “shut up, not try to do anything via government” etc., etc.
You are seriously over-reacting. And don’t put words in my mouth.

We who share our common traditional conservative principles, values and goals will be better off in the long run. We need to build on our strengths and attract more traditional conservatives to our viewpoints than to water down and weaken our own. It just doesn't make sense to me to support politicians like Giuliani, Romney, Gingrich, et al, who have RINO/liberal track records. It doesn't make sense to allow abortionists, homosexualists, gun-grabbers, big-government solutionists, etc, to have free rein on FR to target and lambast us daily with their repugnant bile. Let them go.
