A week after the House voted to repeal the Obama administration's healthcare reform legislation, Tea Party favorite Jim DeMint predicted that the Senate will hold a similar vote.
In an interview with Sean Hannity on Friday, DeMint (R-S.C.) echoed a promise of Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) that the Senate would also hold a vote to repeal the reform law.
"I can guarantee you it will get a vote in the Senate," DeMint said.
DeMint's guarantee comes a few days after McConnell said in a video release that the Senate would hold a vote on repealing the legislation.
The Democratic leadership in the Senate doesnt want to vote on this bill," McConnell said. "But I assure you, we will."
Still, it's unclear whether McConnell and DeMint will make good on their assurances. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) controls which bills come up for a vote in the Senate, and he has not indicated any possibility that the chamber would vote on repealing the Obama administration's healthcare law.

How? thats my question.
If we keep pushing it will come to a vote with some nasty riders in it.
That’s what the house vote did....3 Dems voted to overturn it...They owe Obama their careers?? They’re nuts.
Tie it to something else unrelated.....that’s what Dems do.
If repeal comes to a vote in the Senate in might pass. There are a few Democrats who might vote for it to save their asses in 2012. If repeal passes both houses and is vetoed, the house will have a lot of moral authority to defund it.
It could get attached to another bill, something that needs to be voted on.
Now is a good time to put some pressure on Stabenow (Levin is a lost cause).
After all we picked up two house seats in Michigan this year and that probably puts a little pucker in Stabenow’s butt.
I think they already do.
DeMint has been reading redstate.com. Go there and look at the article from 1/18/11 by Brian Darling. Spells it all out procedurally how they can and will do it.

The tutorial on how to get this vote was on hotair and also spoke to the fillibuster the senate democrats want to mess with but may need as a step to slow a vote down. So many ways they have shot themselves in the foot and as aggravated as I get at McConnell, he does know how to conduct a procedures war. That is why he gets support from conservative senators even when he can irritate the cause.

I misspoke. Sorry. You’re right it was redstate.com.
If they do manage to get it to a vote, we’ll need 51 votes to repeal (they have Joe BiteMe in the event of a tie).
Assuming McConnell can control the treacherous attention whores (Murkowski and the Maine wallflowers first and foremost), we should start determining which democrats we should target (yes, I used that word) with phone calls and constituent pressure.
I think Joe Manchin (of the “I’m a’gonna shoot the Obamacare bill in this campaign ad”) of WV has to do it or he will lose all credibility. I think Claire “love pats” McCaskill will also have to vote to repeal if she has any prayer of keeping her seat.
Who else?

Hot Damn!
The article didn't get a lot of comments, but neither did I see anyone refute what Darling wrote. As he said: "At a minimum, Senators have the power to force a vote on full repeal of Obamacare if they have the will to do so."
It begins to appear that one or two of our GOP Senators may, in fact, have the will.
DeMint continues to impress me more with each passing day.
You mean like DeMint and his compadres voting to scrap the taxpayer funded health care and retirement they and their staffs enjoy? There are a lot of us who are no more pleased to pay for them than we are paying for all the bums who show up at hospital emergency rooms for "free" treatment for their hangovers!
