Article at AAPS on Obama's use of hypnosis in his speeches has been scrubbed (vanity)

Back on October 25, 2008, the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons published an article on Obama's use of neurolinguistic programming in his speeches entitled "Oratory—or hypnotic induction?" I thought it worth mentioning to you guys that I discovered today that the article in question had been scrubbed from AAPS archives. The title is still listed in the AAPS archives, but the article itself is gone.

An article entitled "An Examination of Obama’s Use of Hidden Hypnosis Techniques in His Speeches" is quite similar to the one in question and as of this writing has not yet been scrubbed from the internet. Anyone interested in this subject should make a personal copy.

Whether or not a person puts stock in such thinking, I thought it worth mentioning that Obama or one of his minions apparently believed the article sufficiently damaging that it took steps to deprive the public from considering the analysis presented.

“Does it seem to you that this is what we are witnessing in the Left’s purely emotional (limbic) attacks on conservatives”

I wrote a book on Political psychologies. The whole theory of it is on my profile page for free, if you’re curious. It relates to this statement of yours, in that the Conservative psychology evolved to compete with others, as a means of advancing the species’ evolution. In order to compete (as in War, economics, etc) we needed to have a firm grasp of reality, an excellent ability to assimilate data unemotionally, and the ability to use the data to correctly plot our actions, in order to compete most effectively. We needed to perceive reality, and mold our actions to it correctly, as if we did not, we would lose the competition, and fail evolutionarily.

Liberals are Anticompetitors. They evolved to avoid competition, as they probably would have failed at it in our evolutionary past, when competitions were more physical and violent. Thus they had no need for our rigorously logical natures, as their fortunes did not rise and fall on their performance in perceiving reality, and operating in free competition.

In other areas, such as walking the fine line of a traitorous subversive in group competitions, it is even helpful to the Liberal to behave wholly driven by emotion, and absent logic, as the path they walk must be inherently illogical, and runs counter to the very nature of our species. Thus to pursue the evolutionarily advantageous strategy of traito, one must feel that Al Qaida members are human, and must never be tortured, or killed brutally, just to kill them. They are just as decent as Americans, and deserve court procedings, even if those procedings might set them free to kill us. Liberals didn’t need logic to harvest the benefits of treason. In fact, logic would be a liability.

In the end, much of Liberalism comes from deeply conditioned hatred/envy of successful peers burned into them in childhood, and an inability to process fear. Their brain literally cannot deal with it - the structures within it will not handle it. So if logic calls for an acknowledgment of danger (fear), and adaptation to it, they will see danger, deny it to avoid amygdala (fear) stimulation, and then they will do what they were emotionally conditioned to do in childhood. Appease a bully to seek his friendship, punish the successful children whom they envy and hate, etc.

This type of brain function was all was just an effective way evolution found to make the Liberal do all of the the honorless, disloyal, selfish things which would benefit an evolutionary loser but which logic would tend to argue against.

Fascinating point of view. I look forward to poring over your homepage so as to digest the details.

“Does it seem to you that this is what we are witnessing in the Left’s purely emotional (limbic) attacks on conservatives who oppose Obama (”racists, teabaggers, etc.”) and in blaming them for the Tucson shooting for example?”

The same thing is true on both sides of the political spectrum, just more prevalent in the emotional left. Why would many conservatives who follow Rush call themselves “Ditto Heads??” I may agree with a lot of what Rush says, but would never refer to myself as a dittohead for anyone. This is the same mentality utilized to get the posses of old times together and the formation of lynch mobs. Please, give me logical facts and allow me to make a decision while considering the emotional attributes. But to put the emotional attributes first causes us to only see the facts supporting our emotional decision and to be blind to all others. This is when we are easily manipulated.

“My policy is to never listen to Obama’s speeches.”

Why not listen with a critical ear and use your abilities to logic check his statements....

“Thank you for the info. Fascinating — and scary.”

Don’t allow it to be scary as when fear enters, it opens you up to the manipulation process.

I will make a prediction (which I hope never comes true) that the conservative response to O’Bummers extreme left position will cause a move so far to the right that it will be even worse. Remember, the means are not always justified by the ends we seek!

The fact is, I never listen to any politician’s speeches, which are almost always written by speech writers. Politicians are possibly the worst class of human being. They will say anything to get elected. They are not creative, not enlightened, not terribly good looking, and not even good at giving speeches. Add to all that the fact that they lie with every breath. Can you give me one good reason why I should waste a half hour listening to a speech, when I can read the transcript in about one minute?

LOL I discovered it when I was trying to figure out what that sound was. ;) I know people sometimes make it when they also have bad dental work (like poorly fitting dentures).

Thanks. All of these links to the original article, for me at least, end up down a rabbit hole.

"The techniques O’Bummer used are very typical of what he observed every time he went to church with Rev. Wright."

That's why Obama went to that church for 20 years. I learn hypnotic demagoguery. His hand gestures (mudras) part of his stage act. There are many photos of him looking down his nose at people. That must be intentional too. Anyone with any sense would be turned off by that look. He may not even do that very often

His NLP skillz spin out of control

Obama's NLP hand gestures and powers of persuasion don't work on Vladimir Putin...... Putin sipping on his tea. Calmly taking it all in and wishing he didn't have to spend time listening to this clueless moron. Putin and his advisers had a good belly laugh afterward.

I can be more interesting to watch Obama with the sound off. In speeches where he has 95% control and press conferences where he has 60% control

More Putin-Obama photos from July 2009. Surely Putin’s first meeting with Obama

My policy is to never listen to Obama’s speeches. I’ve never heard more than a few sentences of any speech he’s given.

Ditto.

Okay, perhaps “scary” was not the correct word here. I am worried, but I will not succumb to fear.

As for your prediction, I do not see the majority of conservatives getting pulled into such a reaction. It did not happen even with all of the hateful rhetoric and union thug attacks that have been aimed at tea party rallies.
