State Sen. Leland Yee Launches Boycott of Rush Limbaugh Advertisers
Contra Costa Times ^ | Wednesday, January 26, 2011 | Mike Rosenberg

State Sen. Leland Yee is going after another right-wing heavyweight, this time launching a boycott of any companies that advertise on Rush Limbaugh's radio show.

Yee, a Democrat who represents northern San Mateo County and western San Francisco, began reaching out Tuesday to dozens of civil rights organizations to ask them to condemn Limbaugh.

His staff has compiled a list of the show's sponsors and, with the help of the community groups, will begin putting pressure on them to pull their advertisements from the show. Yee also wants people to stop patronizing the show's advertisers and has launched an online petition for residents to join the boycott.

Yee decided to initiate the protest after Limbaugh "mocked the Chinese language and culture" during his Jan. 19 radio program and refused to apologize.

"I think this is very damaging for children (to hear that) Rush Limbaugh thinks it's OK to make fun of another language or make fun of those individuals who may speak another language," Yee said.

Yee said he's simply looking for an apology, which he hopes will start Limbaugh down a road toward "internal reflection" about his actions.

I'm usually wrong about Legal matters so it's safe to say Abuse of powers.

Is this Yee character initiating the boycott on state's time and using his govt. budget to pay folks to get the word out?

If so, someone(s) in his district needs to file a complaint that this should not take place ... the govt. should NOT be attacking a private citizen.

"ask them to condemn Limbaugh"

Yee! That's not very civil. Sounds pretty vitriolic, actually.

GEE with all of the problems Californa has right now isn’t it nice to knw that an elected offical has time to not just listen to Rush but also organize a boycott. You’d think his time would be better spent trying to solve California’s looming debt crisis?

Hey, Yee! How did you name your kids? Did your silverware drawer spill?

That was a Tom Smothers joke, BTW. Complete with sound effects.

“Hey, Yee! How did you name your kids? Did your silverware drawer spill?”

A Chinese couple had a new baby. The nurse brings them over a lovely, healthy, bouncy, black baby boy.

“Congratulations,” says the nurse to the new parents.
“What will you name the baby?”

The puzzled father looks at his new child and says:
“We will name him “Sam Ting Wong.”

“What do you call a drive by shooting where a Chinese guy gets shot?

CAPPUCINO (CAP-A-CHINO)”

*************************************
There was this Spanish guy, this Chinese guy and this Russian guy all working for the same construction company.

At the beginning of the day the boss comes out and says to the Spanish guy, “You’re in charge of the cement.”

Then he said to the Russian guy, “You’re in charge of the dirt.”

Then he said to the Chinese guy, “You’re in charge of the supplies.”

Then he said, “I’m gonna be back at the end of the day to check on your work. It better be good or you’re fired.”

So they all go off to go get their work done.

At the end of the day, the boss comes back to check on their work.

He looks at the big pile of cement and goes, “Good work,” to the Spanish guy.

Then he looks at the big pile of dirt and says, “Good work,” to the Russian guy.

Then he couldn’t find the Korean guy so he asks, “Where the heck is the Chinese guy??”

All of a sudden, the Chinese guy jumps out from behind the big pile of dirt and yells, “ SUPPLIES!”

;^D

"We need to stand up for civility and be respectful of one another. Otherwise the consequences are dreadful as we can already see in the death threats against Senator Yee," said Rep. Judy Chu, a Democrat who represents a large Asian district outside Los Angeles.

Like Lang Lang's piano tune at the White House state dinner honoring Chinese President Hu Jintao by playing "My Motherland," which is widely seen in China as anti-American.

Like that civility?

My guess is the so-called ‘death threats’ are either fake ones coming from Left- wing agitators, or complete fabrications, designed to garner sympathy, votes or campaign contributions. Probably all three. Yes, I am skeptical, especially when a Dem says they are threatened by a right winger. Listeners to Rush are not nutcases like The Left either believes or wants to believe. Conservatives are not like liberals. All the violence and vitriol comes from their side, not ours......

Yes, that has been proven time after time after time. It's just the left-wing 0media won't report it as such, if at all. There is a long list of left-wing violence somewhere in my archives. I'm sure many others here also have the list.
