None of my business but not many olive trees

As near as I can tell, they are at 33.651963,-116.222928. A small compound surrounded by a lot of olive trees.

Here's a Bing view:

And here's a more recent photo, published by a local paper:

Me and some of my Texas buddies have some neat RC planes with cameras we would fly over that place and have some nice photos.

This bunch must own the local judges cause that is no more an olive orchard nor agri research facility.

It’s just my nosy nature to want to know what’s REALLY going on/growing inside those walls. :)

The following sounds really weird. What kind of oversight would be required for such a thing?

From : http://www.mydesert.com/article/20110130/NEWS01/110130002/Who-JCM-Farming-what-they-doing-

“The patent application refers to “spore-forming microorganisms, present in soil, plants and other forms of organic matter, (that) survive excessive heat of a fire within soil or carbonized wood.” The microorganisms are purported to enhance plant growth and plants’ nutritional value, and can be useful in “producing DNA-enhanced plants which may be consumed by human individuals for enhancing human DNA.””

Awesome...it’s his TEOTWAWKI fortress a doomstead!

I bet there’s underground stuff there too with an egress somewhere beyond the walls.

That place would certainly be defensible when the zombie horde arrives.

The address is uncertain. Best guess would be 54560 Arabia St, Indio, CA 92201. However, that address is not in the USPS ZIP+4 lookup database, nor is it in the map database that Google and Microsoft use.

Based on the aerial, the entrance is on Arabia street, between 54th and what would 55th. Here's a photo that purports to be of the forbidding entry fortifications:

Wouldn't be the first time the address databases are screwed up. If I look up my house, for instance, the map marker is about 300 ft from where it should be.

Nice place to be owned outright. No mortgages on the property.

mydesert.com blogs rumor connections to Bilderberg.

Structure built just after Annenbergs’ death.????

Several high stakes players picked up properties in that area since the market was near the peak in 2007. Google and Zillow don’t show the compound per the anon pic from mydesert.com.

In this economy, loss of nearly all small engine aircraft business in the area due to this one character isn’t popular and local word gets around fast.

Happens to be on an approach for MV-22s if they come up from Yuma to 29 Palms via Palm Springs though. Go figure.

The neighborhood also attracts Mexicali coyotes trafficking the area.

FWIW, county codes disallow anything over 35ft tall. Walls in the county are only allowed to be about 6ft tall, so most folks build a berm with site improvements to get more height at gated communities.

Since he is allegedly industrial secret in nature, his zoning might be violated, no longer qualifying for agricultural permitting. He seeks to disallow the noise of hot air balloons disturbing his olive trees, while applying for helicopter pad LZ permits.

IMHO, he’s too stupid and gaudy to be a spook, but too outlandishly wealthy using any cover for true intent.

He appears to be about 4620ft WSW of the alignment approach to NW end of runway 12 at Thermal airport about 2.75 miles away. He is well within the 20000 ft Surface zone for the approach (about 16000ft) and Elev -29 ASL,..Airport Elev of -115ASL.

IMHO, the airport was there before he was and he should have investigated before he invested.

Regarding the nearby Thermal CA airport,...from Wikipedia...
“The facility hosts an air show in late November, showcasing both full-scale aircraft and radio controlled models as flown by members of the Coachella Valley Radio Control Club. Due to that club’s proximity to the facility, both the club and the airport work closely in mid-January to establish no-fly zones for the club’s “Best In The West” national jet rally. A temporary model operational ceiling of 2000’ (610m) is established during that time due to the size and speed of the models which participate.”

FWIW, the FAA geometry on the approach is a bit unique. Both sites are below sea level and the estate claiming to be encroached is about 100ft higher than the airport elevation. If the airport runway is flat, then the 500AGL surface extending some 20,000ft from the edge of the imaginary airspace might actually be some 400ft above the elevation of the estate.

By making such a fuss, he might actually attract enough attention to formally allow all pilots in the area to fly lower than normally prohibited.

It won’t matter much in a large earthquake in this valley. There isn’t anything keeping the Sea of Cortez from flooding the area and placing the estate 30 ft below the waves of the Pacific if the silt deposits south of Mexicali liquify.
