Report: Huckabee not running for President in 2012?
Politicons ^ | February 9, 2011 | Henry D'Andrea

In what could be a potential giveaway to Gov. Mick Huckabee’s 2012 aspirations, Race42012 has reported that Huckabee’s presidential committee Huckabee for President, Inc has filed termination paperwork with the Federal Election Commission. Though Mike Huckabee’s political action committee HuckPAC is still an entity and has filed it’s normal year end report, this could show clear signs that Mike Huckabee has decided not to seek the office of President in 2012. However, this could also mean that Mike Huckabee is in fact gearing up for a 2012 run, with a possible re-structure of committee. I also said earlier, that if Mike Huckabee doesn’t run, it could put Sarah Palin in the lead for the GOP Nomination.

Race 4 2012 Said:

I must add an important caveat: as I am not thoroughly versed in FEC campaign laws, it is not precisely clear what this filing means – but we will keep digging to find out. Closing this committee could be indicative of Gov. Huckabee retiring old debts incurred in his 2008 presidential run in order to open a new committee for his 2012 campaign, or it could simply be the settling of old accounts. The timing, however, is interesting. Stay tuned for more details and analysis as the situation becomes more clear. As Drudge says, developing…

Thank God.

Mike carried a lot of weight with the constituency. His absence from the primaries should help to disambiguate the debates.

His TV program is a worthwhile endeavor and alternative to a political career.

It sounds as though the Huckster has figured out that the way Republicans are trashing one another right now, the commie libs are going to kick our asses in 2012 anyway. I agree with him.

Judging by the last monthly filing on record, “Huckabee for President, Inc.” has seen very little financial activity of late, and appears to be an inactive “legacy” organization. This just looks like he was closing out his 2008 campaign apparatus, which he would be doing whether or not he is running in 2012.

I don’t think you can read much into the timing, either. The candidates are just now starting to gear up in Iowa, so this seems like as logical a time as any for Huckabee to clear the books if he’s running.

I’m not sure whether Huckabee is running or not, but I really don’t think this means anything.

Great - I won’t have to keep reminding people of the four cops that Huckabee all but condemned to death due to his HORRIBLE JUDGMENT.

Now, if Daniels (the guy who thinks it’s cool to sell of his Interstates to foreign ownership with monopoly protection) just quits, I’ll be a happy camper.

If Huck doesn’t run it will tell us all that he is a true patriot who doesn’t want to once again screw up the pool of candidates.

I really hope he doesn’t let us down. I want to like and respect him and this is his chance to do the right thing by not running. Huck really is a bend an elbow with a beer kind of guy and it just sad he has spent to much time on Capitol Hill he sees capitulation as “reaching across the aisle.”

Romney would get my lifelong admiration if he were also to not run. But that ain’t gonna not happen, will it?

I’ll be very surprised if Huckabee doesn’t run. He sees himself at the top of lots of GOP polls and he has an ego. He did very well last time, winning several states.

Palon 2012.

‘Willard’ is Mitt Romney’s first name. It’s also a horror movie about a guy named Willard who commanded an army of rats.

I second that!

Actually the whole 2008 field needs to get lost, doubly so for the father of ObamaCare though.

The media thinks Mr. RINOcare is a just fabulous candidate. Yeah, let’s let the media set up the lamest candidate to get stomped like a narc at a biker rally a la John McLame.

McCain’s 2008 campaign was showing very poor attendance, finances in the red, and was showing every sign of being on the ropes right up until everybody quit and threw him the nomination. I’d like to know what powers were at work there. That was the biggest joke I’ve ever seen in my life.

He just bought a $3.5 million dollar home in Florida. Hard to make payments on that without a job.

Nope, Mr. RINOcare will step right in it and the media will puff him up like there’s no tomorrow to get a Palin defeat.

I’ll bet he jumps in at the last minute because “the people have spoken”. I heard this corndog on Laura Ingraham a few weeks ago. There’s no way he isn’t running. He was talking himself up as a legitimate candidate so bad that I nearly had to stop the car to laugh.

Huckleberry is an OK guy, just not to run for Prez. He’ll be much more valuable as a supporting actor.

Yep, if the Huckster drops that is good news for Palin. We cannot afford to split votes this time. Not that big spender Huck was worth voting for—but he is a strong candidate because he is a slick talker.
