A Disillusioned 99'er Shares His Disappointment With The American Dream, Welcomes Death (Suicide)
Zero Hedge ^ | 2-14-2011 | Tyler Durden

Posted on 02/14/2011 9:58:03 PM PST by Frantzie

"Mark", a member of the ever growing cadre of disillusioned, disenchanted and disgruntled millions of American unemployed, has written a letter shared by A Company of One, in which he explains the plight of 99'ers (those whose extended unemployment benefits are set to expire) in which he chronicles his plight and his terminal disappointment with the American system. One can only imagine how all the "99'ers" would feel if they did not have the benefit of living at least partially subsidized for 2 years in the socialist state of America. If Bahrain is any indication, where the government's attempt to purchase the love of its people just failed today, pretty soon not even the 99 weeks of EUCs will do much to suppress what is an unmistakably rising anger among the broad US population.

I have been hearing more and more 60 year olds using phrases like "they pulled the rug from under us after we worked all our lives."

Elections have consequences. Supporting Obama with your TV viewership has consequences too.

I guess this poor man has nothing to worry about now.

He was 60 year old and tried desperately to find a job.

“Mark” is a gaybo. Sorry for his luck. He needs to worry about his situation (shared by millions) rather than he is a peter puffer.

I read the whole thing and the man was a old sick gay man who was tired of life and looking for someone else to blame.

He was 60 year old and tried desperately to find a job.

And now he's blaming you for being 60yo, unemployed, suicidal and gay. If only you had watched more TV he probably could have gotten a few more handouts.

He is not ****ing blaming me. More like Obama.

Yeah I know he was gay but he applied for jobs at age 60 and had zero luck. BTW - they don’t ask you sexual preference on your resume or job application.

I do not condone his lifestyle choice but if you think there are no heterosexual male and female in this guys boat then you are dreaming.

Any reason you think this screed by some mindless Communist is worth reading? If this is the content of the mighty Zero Hedge, it is a real loser site. This is nothing but some POS Lib whining. At age 60 lossing your job should not be the end of the world.

Did this guy spend so much that he was going to have to work another 20 years for retirement? How is that going to happen? Screw you Mark. Get off your ass and solve your problems one way or another.

I can’t speak to all of it, but he is right about a few things ... the people that get screwed these days in this country are the people that “do the right thing”, as in work, pay their bills, buy only what they can afford, don’t take kickbacks and cheat in their business deals ... they are the ones who pay the price for all the venality and corruption in DC and among the political class.

This is not the same country I grew up in. I don’t recognize much of it anymore, and I am sick of sharing this land with the likes of Pelosi and the scummy totalitarians who lust for an all powerful government.

There will be millions of us in the same boat with this guy ... jobless, broke, barely scraping by, if that.

I just want to live long enough to see some of the political, banking, and corporate overlords guillotined in the public square.

A 60-year-old man with 35 years in management should be debt-free with significant investments in his 401(k), Roth IRA and several rental properties that were paid with cash.

I don’t think saying “screw you” to a pissed off unemployed fagbag is a good idea...he might like it.

"now who will hire an old homeless guy out of work for nine years with just a few years until retirement"

Why don't you? Most people who hire were once just like you.. except they had ambition and were not lazy. Remember that great business idea you once had? They had one too and instead of bragging about it in a bar they sat down and figured out how to give it a go.

How come, then, are you so indifferent to others in your situation? You hire them, noble man.

Recently, in an interview, a guy used the example of a business with 100 employees now making do with 80 employees given the current economic climate. He said, "These 20 other jobs aren't coming back."

As government and it's ugly cousin, socialism, ratchet tighter and tighter on the economy, businesses have to make it with less and unless this 'grip' is loosened, it can only get worse for those who fall through the cracks.

The Hammock Makers on the Left don't understand that their endeavor, combined with faulty craftsmanship, eventually leads to failure. WTF do they know about building anything? They have no business sense and have run nothing but their mouths.

I read the whole thing and the man was a old sick gay man who was tired of life and looking for someone else to blame.

His opus was repulsive...an endless litany of "woe is me" from a homosexual deviant. He claimed to obey the Ten Commandments but he did not obey God by engaging in the abomination of homosexuality.

From the tone of his anti-Capitalist ravings, he likely was a union "man". And that's a large measure of what's wrong in O'Bambi's Dystopia: business killing unions.

The headline for this item really needs a BARF ALERT since that self-pitying fool's Socialistic hatred of self-reliance was disgusting.

Good riddance, "Mark" (presuming that's his name and presuming it was even real).

"They STEAL from pension funds, banks, the people and government, and little Wall Street investors. Then rather than face punishment, they become petty kings in this world. They are disloyal to America, unpatriotic, and serve their own foreign UN-American greedy causes and demand more and more and more."

People who have forgone a lifetime of opportunity to make themselves highly desired men of value, rather than accept the inevitable consequences, they become pathetic self pitying victims. They are anti American, and serve their own self indulgent denial of reality demanding more and more.

PS: You're committing suicide? Your choice, I can hardly blame you. Life bites.. for real. I always figured hell to be fire etc, but this could be it.

I’m with you.

Where are all those skilled snipers??? Let’s pass the hat.

I feel sorry for this guy. Many more to come.

I fear God will not look kindly on his suicide....God gave us the gift of free will, but, ending one’s gift of life is not negotiable in His eyes.

Very sad letter and saddest of all, it seems he was suffering spiritually. I’m sorry that the evil that’s always roamed the earth won out over him.

Pray for his soul and for those he asks God to damn to hell.

"And now for the rest of the story ....."

Actually "Mark" reached terminal disillusionment after finding only ridicule from the posters on his favorite internet forums and the denizens of the local tavern as he tried to explain his support for Ron Paul and expound on his "911 Truther" theories.

(Apologies to Paul Harvey, RIP>)

Amen!

If this deviant did really take the suicide path, there's no doubt that he and Ted Kennedy are yukking it up in a nether region.
