(CBSNews)

On Friday February 11, the day Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak stepped down, CBS correspondent Lara Logan was covering the jubilation in Tahrir Square for a 60 MINUTES story when she and her team and their security were surrounded by a dangerous element amidst the celebration. It was a mob of more than 200 people whipped into frenzy.

In the crush of the mob, she was separated from her crew. She was surrounded and suffered a brutal and sustained sexual assault and beating before being saved by a group of women and an estimated 20 Egyptian soldiers. She reconnected with the CBS team, returned to her hotel and returned to the United States on the first flight the next morning. She is currently in the hospital recovering.

It was Muabarek’s thug supporters, according to the main of circle jerkers at HuffPo. They are so blind to Islam.

She was apparently born in Durban South Africa. She has seen what happens to a country I guess.

If she is still a leftist, then she is a true believer.

“Has she seen the true face if Islam”

Unfortunately, she has now. Prayers up for Lara.

The feminist rewrote the law up here in Canada. From a glancing touch all the way up to rape and everything in between are consider sexual assaults. So the rapist and butt pincher are both treated exactly the same in a court of law.

So after all the brainwashing up here, I'm not sure if the CBS reporter was raped or fondled or what?

She has been embedded with U.S. troops in Afghanistan and Iraq for years, and criticized the Rolling Stone "expose" of Gen. McChrystal.

She met her husband in Iraq, he is a U.S. defense contractor from Texas. She is South African.

This sounds really bad. Why hasn’t it been reported on before?

This was a horrible assault and the perps should be “sewn into the carcass of a rotting pig and then buried alive”. (From one of those 1940’s movies about the English Army on the Indian subcontinent - Gunga Din, perhaps?)

That being said, I’ll bet these female reporters will look at Tea Party gatherings in a whole new, and better, light.

Unbridled democracy in action.

There are good reasons why our Founding Fathers crafted a Constitutional Republic and gave us a nation of laws as opposed to mob rule.

That’s true they usually do brutal and sustained sexual assaults and beatings on animals (donkeys, goats, dogs etc) or little boys.

Guess they’re coming out of the dark ages..

A horrible turn of events. . .truly, outrageous. OTOH. . .have to say; in looking at pic before her attack, she is wearing a bit of neckline here which is noticeable even with jacket. And of couse, these animals were celebrating their freedom, right?

All to sickening. Do hope Libs see the bigger pic here; but doubt they will.

The management of CBS news should be fired en masse for this.

The Koran openly, and without question, states that Muslims are allowed to rape non-believers, even in front of their husbands.

Yet CBS news sent in a woman to a fundamentalist Muslim country that had weeks ago broken out into lawlessness. Reporters had already been attacked and savagely beaten.

I hope CBS News management can continue to find comfort in political correctness. The Muslims are clearly responsible for the gang rape, but the CBS News management knowingly put her in danger.

I guess it would be inadmissiable to bring up her multiple affairs while in theaters of action.

“This sounds really bad. Why hasn’t it been reported on before?”

The fact the rebellion in Egypt consists of islamic rapists did not fit the media template.

Weeks ago when male reporters were being beaten I said there is no reason for them to be there.

And I pointed out at the same time that they were operating on their little ideological myth about "freedom fighters" instead of realizing this was the real deal, and their "celebrity" meant nothing to these people. You'd think that any rational management, having seen what happened to Katie when she ventured into a crowd, would have confined their reporters to the hotel balcony.

Ignorant people, thinking their little elitist bubble would protect them, and blundering into a situation they had no business being anywhere near. Sadly, Lara paid the price for their stupidity.
