She sees the writing on the wall and knows that the razor thin majority the Rats have in the Senate is gone this November.

She's also a 76-yr-old widow. She could win again if she wanted to.

Ginny could win again but several of her colleagues will not. Most conservative Dems in Dem districts see their own party as the enemy now.

Who’s Ginny? It’s Patsy Ticer.

And yes, I agree that she understands she would be in the minority. But I know Senator Ticer. All I’m really saying is that ~for her~ age and the fact that she lost her husband a few years ago are as strong a consideration for her as the possibility of being in the minority.
