Wisconsin: The Hemlock Revolution (Joe Klein takes Walker's side)
Swampland (Time Magazine) ^ | February 18, 2011 | Joe Klein

Revolutions everywhere--in the middle east, in the middle west. But there is a difference: in the middle east, the protesters are marching for democracy; in the middle west, they're protesting against it. I mean, Isn't it, well, a bit ironic that the protesters in Madison, blocking the state senate chamber, are chanting "Freedom, Democracy, Union" while trying to prevent a vote? Isn't it ironic that the Democratic Senators have fled the democratic process? Isn't it interesting that some of those who--rightly--protest the assorted Republican efforts to stymie majority rule in the U.S. Senate are celebrating the Democratic efforts to stymie the same in the Wisconsin Senate?

Remember folks the WH is now the war room for the WI union battle.

The MSM is not reporting the contract has expired.

The MSM is not reporting layoffs WILL happen.

Well, he is employed in the private sector.

Exactly. No matter how liberal Joe Kline is he has had to struggle in the (much dreaded) private sector and paid for his own retirement while public employees have "no fire" clauses and in Wisconsin at least they pay nothing for medical and retirement.

Nope- missed it. I guess it was time to walk the dog :)

Mika was grudging in her accepting changes have to be made- but Barnicle and Meacham just couldn’t get past the teachers not going to work and the Dem Senators crossing the line (so to speak)..

Being in newspapers and mass media these days is very difficult with lots of layoffs and salary cuts. So even liberal media people don’t have much patience with these insanely greedy teachers and other public employees. Their scam is known to everyone now. Ding ding ding - win.

If anyone needs a bus ride to tomorrow's Madison rally, sign up here.

If anyone is driving to Madistan, here's a map with parking garages.

And if you live in western Wis. and can't get to Madistan, Minnesota unionists will be gathering in Hudson for their own rally and the locals should meet them there.

You may show support for Gov. Walker's Budget Repair bill by signing this petition, set up by the WisGOP.

Patriots are meeting around 10am at the south steps of the capitol.

Hmmm... “elections have consequences”...

Didn’t a certain high-ranking Kenyan say that in 2009?
